Metadata Manager won't let me edit a show

I have show that I can't edit. Its the first on the list, (30 Rock) and everytime i click the drop down arrow nothing shows. When I try to identify the show or edit it, I never get the option to enter external id's. All i get for the search is the title and year and when i try to search it it just keeps going forever. I've tried deleting all the metadata refeshing, rescanning and restarting the server but nothing seems to change it. All my other shows work fine and they all use the same folder structure so there should be no issue there. any advice?

edit: I got it working, I'm not sure how, but now 4 of my other shows are having the same issue.

Hi, welcome. If you don't get the option for external id's, then there has to be a folder structure issue causing the folder to not be recognized as a tv series. what is the content type of the library that you specified when setting it up, and what does the folder structure look like?

I had selected tv when creating the library, and had proper folder structure for all shows. I had everything in acceptable variations of this "TV/series name/series.name.SxxExx.episodetitle.mkv"  I've been a Kodi/xbmc user for 5 years and decided to try this out as a backend

I actually figured it out got it to work late last night. I had issues with "Friends", "30 Rock", "Silicon Valley", and "China, IL" .

What I did was:

deleted tv library

shutdown the server.

Manually deleted all metadata for those shows.

Went into my appdata folder and deleted library.db and refreshinfo.db then went into the cache folder and deleted all the contents of all the tmdb/tvdb type folders.

Opened up filebot and renamed all the files to this format.

{n} - {s00e00} - {t}

Then I opened up Kodi and scanned the files (tvdb scraper)  While it was scanning I noticed those shows all had "(en)" added to the title so after the scan I changed those folder names.

I started emby server

Changed all the metadata priorities to the tvdb

Created tv library

After scan everything worked.

I added some dummy episode files afterwards as well to make sure newly added stuff works and it does.
