Tranquil 94 Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 Hello Forum. I want to improve the performance of my Emyb Server so I plugged a Samsung SSD to my system. This is not the system/ booting device, so Emby does not store its data on it. ATM it only seems to be possible to store the cache data there. The path can be defined in the server settings. But is it possible to store the meta data on this device as well? This is the biggest directory.
sh0rty 718 Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 You can store the whole Emby-Server directory on the SSD using junctions (mklink). 2
Redshirt 1487 Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 You can store the entire metadata directory on the SSD without junctions. Just open the server dashboard and navigate to Metadata->Advanced. Then change the Metadata path. Note that it creates a metadata directory at the location you point to, so if you want D:\Metadata, just enter D:\ as the path.. 3
Solution Abobader 3470 Posted February 15, 2016 Solution Posted February 15, 2016 Good day, If you want to move that metadata folder and do not want to start from new matters, 1 - simply define the path as Redshirt said: Example here as I create a folder named (Emby Metadata), my example to drive C: 2 - Set the path within Emby server settings: 3 - Shutdown your emaby server and then copy (or better moved) all the "metadata" folder to the new location, then start your Emby server again. Here what main emby folder will look like (empty): My best 3
Tranquil 94 Posted February 15, 2016 Author Posted February 15, 2016 (edited) WOW! Never saw this option. What a shame to me. Thanks for pointing to that!! Edited February 15, 2016 by Tranquil 1
