joshstix 25 Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 When trying to start playback of a file I get an error that the program failed to start because d3dx9_43.dll is not on the computer. Sometimes a reboot fixes this but today it just keeps on happening. I have searched and can see there is a copy of the file in an mpc-hc folder. Is there a known issue and known solution for this issue?
joshstix 25 Posted January 31, 2016 Author Posted January 31, 2016 The worst part of this is now I've gone back to the old emby theatre and all the things I hated about it but had learnt to live with are now staring me right in the face and making me rage.
pritch33 5 Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 temporary fix? You could try downloading the dll file and replacing it? Make sure to use the manual fix or just google the name and try another site. Have done this type of things before with games and has worked. http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?d3dx9_43 Ray
Solution Luke 42078 Posted January 31, 2016 Solution Posted January 31, 2016 Download and run the DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer 2
Redshirt 1487 Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 you can usually fix that by re-installing DirectX. Here is Microsofts KB for installing DirectX https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/179113 1
joshstix 25 Posted January 31, 2016 Author Posted January 31, 2016 Thanks for the feedback guys. I reinstalled the DX distributable and it is working again. Going back to old theatre is being reminded how nice it was to just hit the play button from the home window and play the highlighted show straight away.
