Question: Emby for WMC and Audio

Hello, 

 

Does Emby for WMC auto detect the device's support audio codec and display it in the GUI or does it only displays the first track in the file?

 

I am asking because I have two tracks in my movie files (track1:aac 2.0 and track2:ac3 5.1) but emby for wmc only shows me the 2.0 in the gui. When I start the movie for example the audio codecs play it in 5.1.

The display is always showing the first track.  We can't be sure which one will actually end up being played.

Ok. Thanks for answering. Is it because the audio device can't be detected? if so, can we have to option like all other client to tell it manually which audio codec to passthrough (AC3, DTS, etc...)

It's because our app isn't in control of the playback at all.  All of the stream options are handled by whatever codec is responsible for playback.
