Forcing English subtitles always

Hi

 

Almost *every* media file I have foo.{avi,mp4,mkv} I have a corresponding foo.eng.srt file along with it. Emby plays it just fine, but for every single episode or movie, I am required to click on the gears icon and force choose eng-srt.

 

is there anyway I can enable a server level setting to force the use of English subtitles? Honestly, I don't mind doing it at the level of every client, but it is really getting on my nerves to do it at the level of every episode. Some times, we are binge watching and I have to move my mouse to the option and enable it after the video starts.

 

it would be nice if I could do something like with Netflix where it remembers what I want and applies it throughout.

 

Any ideas where I should be looking at?

Have you looked in user playback settings?

 

User icon top right-Settings-Playback settings-Subtitles Mode
