politby 88 Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 I have been using Metabrowser to fetch metadata for my collection. Now that I have MB Server I would like to have it do the scraping for new items. So I enabled meta data collection for my movie library, only to find the next morning that it had overwritten my painstakingly saved poster images with whatever covers came up first at themoviedb. I would have expected the default behavior to be NOT to replace existing metadata. How do I set it to preserve existing data? I know I can disable for each individual item, but that's a lot of work for 800 movies. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
politby 88 Posted December 5, 2013 Author Posted December 5, 2013 Thanks Luke Then what could have caused it? I know some of my posters are png files, some are jpg. What format does MBS save in, i.e. will it check for both folder.jpg and folder.png and if either exists not save a new one? Or if there is a .jpg will it save a .png (or vice versa)? If I now turn on metadata fetching again, what do I need to double check so that only processes new items? Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
politby 88 Posted December 6, 2013 Author Posted December 6, 2013 Okay, I will see what I can find out and report back. Let's say I use the "lock" feature of metabrowser on all items I want no changes to. Will MBS see that tag in the xml file and leave them alone?
Luke 42077 Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 that is the default behavior. we do not replace any images.
Luke 42077 Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 we support all of those extensions, so i do not know. you'll need to dig deeper and research a little more
