server version 3.0.5083.27698

Some of my mkv movies that I have ripped using handbrake either don't play or will restart before 60 seconds of playing the movie using internet explorer 11 on windows 8.1. I tried several of the same movies in chrome and all but one played in chrome. The one that didn't play in chrome stop playing instead of restarting before 60 seconds.

I just purchased Media Browser from the Windows app store and so far all movies I've tried have played flawlessly.

We're working hard on IE support for the web client but it's not easy. Microsoft has a really buggy implementation of html 5 video.

In any event, the web client gives you a message about installing the webm plugin for IE, did you see that, and did you install it? It will increase the likelihood of it succeeding.

Yes I installed the plugin for IE.  Today I tried it away from home and it worked fine from ie11.  So I logged into my home computer from work to try it from home again and the movie that wasn't working in ie or chromo is know working.  Maybe my server was running slow, I have been thinking of upgrading.  I'm running windows server 2012 essentials on a AMD Athlon II X4 640 processor 3.00 G with 4 g memory and it feels sluggish.  Do you have any recommended specs for running Media Browser Server?

Depends on your usage. @@Tikuf can give a better estimate.

Sorry for the time to reply but a good (ish) test is you will require a score or around 2500 (ish) for each transcoded stream.

http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_list.php

This is full transcode not stream copy etc (the webclient will always do full transcode).

Using other clients that have implemented stream copy etc the requirement will be much less.

Hope that helps you out

Restarting the browser and making sure there isn't any other active connections seems to solve the issue.
