woolooloo 1 Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 I have 3 items in my media collection: 1. Television - TV shows 2. Kid Shows - Also TV shows, but those for my kids 3. Music Videos That is the order that I want them displayed in when I look at the top level, but it is displaying it in alphabetical order and giving me the exact opposite of what I want. I've changed the "sort name" for each of the items (inserted an "a", "b", and "c" into the beginning of the names) and that makes it sort properly when looking through the web dashboard, but it doesn't affect the sort in Classic. In MB2 I was able to manually select the order of the items in the Configurator, how can I fix this in MB3? Thanks
ebr 16169 Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 What theme and are you using the EHS? Be sure you don't have your top level view sorted by something other than name.
woolooloo 1 Posted December 2, 2013 Author Posted December 2, 2013 I'm using the default theme, I haven't installed anything else at this point. I do have the EHS enabled. I just turned off EHS to see what would happen and it didn't change the order. While I had EHS turned off, I was able to see the sort order for the screen along the top and it was sorting by name. I tried a few other options before returning to name, but nothing changed. Perhaps interestingly, when I logged back in to check out these things for you, it is now showing Kid Shows, Music Videos, and then Television instead of Music Videos first as it was previously. Unfortunately I still need TV first, not last. I just went back into the Dashboard Item List and confirmed that it is still sorting that in my desired order. Any ideas, should I try a different theme?
Solution ebr 16169 Posted December 2, 2013 Solution Posted December 2, 2013 Oh, wait a minute, you said you used 'a', 'b', 'c' right? Change that to '1', '2', '3'... 1
woolooloo 1 Posted December 2, 2013 Author Posted December 2, 2013 That did the trick! Thanks for your help!
ebr 16169 Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 YW. There is logic in MBC to ignore 'a ' at the beginning of a name when sorting...
