unable to connect to server when ip entered manually

so with media center going end of life, and having some free time, I decided to build a new htpc.   i've rebooted numerous times and continue to get this error when I manually (2 current servers running) try to connect using IP address.    Anyone ever see this or am I missing something simple??  I have verified that the server is up and running as well

Slow down as you enter the IP address.  Wait about 2 seconds before moving over and hitting "Login".
