It won't accept the key, at all.  I've always been a Gold Supporter, tried to add in new themes (ROC and Crystal) and it rejects the key I received in email.  I copied & pasted.

To make sure I got it right, I pasted into a notepad, and sure enough, it's right.

I can't figure out.   I receive this notice:

MB3 Key Missing or Invalid - in order for any premium content to be registered, you must also be a MB3 Supporter. Please donate and support the continued development of the core product. Thank you.

I already am a donor/sponsor, have been since the very beginning.. what gives?

Your purchases/contribution to date entitle you to access the following plug-ins:

Ascendancy
Centrality
coverart3 upgrade
Crystal
Harmony
Imperium
Kismet
Maelstrom
ROC
Pearl
Lotus
Sapphire
Jade
Neo
ScreenPix
CoverArt
Trailers
Vanilla

Below is your supporter registration key. To activate the above plug-ins, please copy and paste the code to the supporter key field (in the help and support area) in the Configurator. We recommend that you save this email in case you need to activate again in the future.

Supporter Registration Key: XYZ (key blanked out, obvious reason)

Thank you again for your support.

Thankfully it did accept the old key I had, which doesn't include ROC or Crystal, but it is at least back up to supporting all the rest, whew.

MB2 keys are not the same as MB3 keys.  The key you have is an MB2 key and needs to go in the Legacy (MB 2.x) key field in the dashboard.

Ok.. but I bought these themes for MB3?   Do I just alter the MB2 key that's in there.. I'm confused.  I couldn't find another way to buy outside of the old store, if I bought from the wrong place, let me know that too  (Edit: Hate to wipe out the MB2 key input if I don't need to, because I'm not sure where my old MB2 key is anymore, in case it wipes it out and I do need it)

I just bought these yesterday, would that make a difference as to what type of key they are?   In the past, when I've purchased since buying MB3, I've always changed the MB3 key when they send a new one (when I upgraded Coverart/etc)

You buy the themes from the server for MB3.

Open the server click on plugins then plugin catalogue, from there you will see a dropdown menu,if it is a theme you select MB classic plugins and then they will all be listed.

Click on what theme you have or would like and it will say you are already registered for this feature or give you a price to purchase.

That is the only way to purchase items for MB3,if you bought from the old store you are purchasing for MB2.

I think we need a tutorial made on how to purchase.

I agree 100%.  I get a lot of emails and messages from folks that have purchased through the MB3 dashboard and either don't see the email with their supporter key (Junk email filters seem to eat at least some) or don't know what to do with it.

Ideally, if one purchases a plugin through the dashboard, their dashboard should *KNOW* and deal with their supporter key in the background.  A tutorial would be a big help, but I think the problem is the purchase workflow.  Right now, I buy something, then I have to go tell my system I've done it - it doesn't fit right with the cutting edge MB3 experience.

This isn't really feasible with the PayPal workflow.  The purchases are processed out of line by a set of routines that are on our web server.  There is no path back to the system that made the purchase from that routine.

The securest and easiest way to make all this happen is via email, unfortunately.

But, this only matters on the very first purchase.  This is why the system is designed to always have the same key.  You don't ever need to do anything with subsequent purchases - they just start working with your existing key.

We do need a tutorial and, when the MB2 store is retired, it won't be nearly as confusing as it is now.

I wonder if there's something could be done by the local web dashboard detecting a first-time click (e.g. no supporter key known locally) on a buy button and, after opening the PayPal window, displaying some useful information in the local dashboard web browser window, advising to look out for an email with your supporter key after paying, and what to do with it.

That way, once the user is done with PayPal, they come back to their dashboard browser and it's telling them what to do next.  No surprises or dead ends.

Just a thought.

The problem is there is no way to know how, or when, or where they will "come back" to the dashboard.

We can, however, add the same note that exists now under the supporter key field under the PayPal button so that, you know to look for the email after you register.

Ok.  So, since ROC and Crystal, to my knowledge were never MB2 things, if this is an MB2 key, should I just repurchase them?  Or will this key, which I guess replaces my MB2 key, allow them to work?   I'm trying to figure it out.

Thanks.

Roc and Crystal do work in MB2.  That's why they are also in the MB2 store.

That key will work for those themes if you put it into the right place and also have a valid MB3 key.

Ok.  I did it.  Thanks.   Seems to have made them OK at least they installed in MB Classic and seem to run ;)  Thanks.
