Dan64 30 Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 On my PC I have installed both MB3 Client & Server. I have discoverd that the IBN folder is located in 2 places: 1) C:\Users\{Username}\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\ImagesByName 2) C:\ProgramData\MediaBrowser-Classic\ImagesByName Also I have noted the the contents of the 2 folders are different. I'd like to know If are mantained in sync by MB3 or is better to remove one of the two.
ebr 16169 Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 MBC does not create or reference an IBN in it's directory. Was that copied over from a MB2 install?
Luke 42077 Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 not sure what the second one is but certainly don't remove the first one.
Dan64 30 Posted November 24, 2013 Author Posted November 24, 2013 MBC does not create or reference an IBN in it's directory. Was that copied over from a MB2 install? Yes I have copied the MB2 IBN over the MB3 Classic folder installation. The reason for doing that is that in MB3 server there is the option to set IBN Path. I have checked this option, but to avoid to overwrite the MB2 folder I have decided to copy the IBN folder. Now I have also set the path of IBN folder to "C:\ProgramData\MediaBrowser-Classic\ImagesByName". But since in my PC I have also installed the server there is the folder "C:\Users\{Username}\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\ImagesByName", my question is: It's better initialize the server IBN folder with the content of client IBN folder and unckeck the option "Use custom IBN path". Or stay with this solution ? I mean the 2 way are exactly the same or one is preferred ?
Solution ebr 16169 Posted November 25, 2013 Solution Posted November 25, 2013 Makes no difference. Just be sure you delete the one you aren't pointing to. Actually, I take it back - use the one under the server directory. If you were to uninstall MBC on this machine and turn it into only a server, you might delete the IBN in the process. It doesn't make sense for the server to be pointing to a directory used by the client. 1
