Xzener 729 Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Hello Scott, I have mentioned this before, but don't remember where... My Windows Phone (HTC M8) shows up as an iPhone.there anything I can do to resolve this?? The phone is using IE, not Safari BTW.
Solution bennymac 47 Posted March 31, 2015 Solution Posted March 31, 2015 I have this too! This happened a while back (maybe 6+months). To get better website rendering and compatibility when using IE Microsoft changed the way IE presents itself to websites. I'm not 100% sure, but I doubt much can be done. 1
Luke 42077 Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 yea at the rate the browsers change i'm more likely to just have a single web client icon for all of them so that we don't have to keep reacting to these sort of things
Xzener 729 Posted March 31, 2015 Author Posted March 31, 2015 Lets hope Spartan Browser will resolve this issue.
ScottIsAFool 517 Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 As @@bennymac says, this is because IE in WP8.1 is presenting itself as either an iphone or android device. Unfortunately, there's nothing that can be done about this. It's not even in my control (cos you're in IE, not my app )
bennymac 47 Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 (edited) Lets hope Spartan Browser will resolve this issue. Yeh for sure @@Xzener. Right now Spartan comes up as Chrome, since it's a fork from Trident Edited April 1, 2015 by bennymac
