Teddy 100 Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 (edited) I'm using IBN folders locate in C:\ProgramData\MediaBrowser-Classic\ImagesByName with the usual structure directory (people, genres, etc). I see MB3 create subdirectories for each letter and each actor has his own directory with a xml file. But putting a new actor p.ej under C:\ProgramData\MediaBrowser-Classic\ImagesByName/people/harrison ford/folder.jpg, the photo actor is not showed in MB3 Classic. (Already I checked the option "images by name path" in the server). Is this a bug or I'm doing something not correct? Is due to same reported issue with not backgrounds when they has small resolution in TMDB that from Luke will solved in next release? Thanks in advance (I did a "refresh people" and refresh too in MB3 classisc) Edited November 6, 2013 by teodorin
ebr 16169 Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 The IBN is located on the server machine. Not the client. 1
Erik 124 Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 (edited) Edit: never mind... I mis-read the path... Edited November 6, 2013 by Erik
Teddy 100 Posted November 7, 2013 Author Posted November 7, 2013 Sorry ebr, when you say the "The IBN is located on the server machine. Not the client.", Are you saying I must to put the whole IBN directory in server directory? (From the server movie-edit view, the photo it's missing).
Abobader 3464 Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Good day, From the server dashboard (tools) click on menu "Default media library" then on the tab "Settings" and see where the IBN path, then if you have customs actors or whatever you need to upload, you can do to that path, then restart the mb3 server. For more info regarding the IBN, please read this thread: http://mediabrowser.tv/community/index.php?/topic/695-imagesbyname-folder/ My best
Teddy 100 Posted November 7, 2013 Author Posted November 7, 2013 (edited) Sorry Abodaber but for me it's confussing yet how manage MB3 the IBN. When MB2, the IBN directory was in the same Mediabrowser directory and was 1 folder for each actor (55.000 in my case). For MB3 the IBN is on the Roaming directory and server create 1 directory for each alphabetical letter and within each one, directories with the name of each actor for this letter but the directory actor it's empty. I had a look at http://mediabrowser3...sbyname-folder/ but I can't find nothing clear how works IBN for MB3. Now I moved whole IBN directory to roaming Server directory and uncheck where the IBN path before was. Server is Refresing people, I thing it will spend hours to finish (I don't know if I'm doing a madness but in fact the actors was not imported to roaming server directory before) If it works, for new custom actors, where I would need to create the directory with the folder.jpg? within of the roaming people or within of his directory letter? Thanks to support Edited November 7, 2013 by teodorin
ebr 16169 Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 The move to the letter-based pre-folders for people is a recent change in the structure. It was necessary because file systems limit the number of entries that can be in any single directory/folder and we hit that limit for some people.
Teddy 100 Posted November 8, 2013 Author Posted November 8, 2013 (edited) Thanks to answer ebr. The myself test moving my local IBN to roaming server doesn't work for me so I restored the prior configuration and continues not showing the custom artists in the movies server. Looking at the roaming IBN server directory letter-based pre-folders for people, the folder for each name people it's empty. Is this normal? Is there any new document explain how manage now MB3 the custom IBN? I'm thinking I have a local issue and this weekend I'll do a complete scrash installation, because I remember weeks ago the IBN was working for me. I must to rebuild my local IBN to letter-based pre-folders for people or is not need it? Regards P.D I remember too the Trailers had backdrops but since 1 week ago not backdrops for any movie, only the folder, overview and actors. Edited November 7, 2013 by teodorin

I just posted this morning about the lack of images in the new structured People folder and Luke responded about a bug http://mediabrowser.tv/community/index.php?/topic/1876-any-way-to-reset-the-people-downloaded-images/ I do however get the person.xml files in the correct actor directories. Did you run the "Refresh People" task after setting things up? Cheers 1
Teddy 100 Posted November 8, 2013 Author Posted November 8, 2013 Yes I did a lot of times the "Refresh People". If it's a bug I'll await for next release. What about my question if you would recommed to rebuild my local custom IBN to letter-based pre-folders for people? Regards

I dumped the contents of my People folder and let it rebuild via Refresh People. I know from Luke's answer what the bug is doing, but I am not sure what the impact will be when it is fixed, other than downloading the people images to the correct place, so it might be worth waiting until the fix is released. A\harrison ford\folder.jpg A\john ford\folder.jpg B\betty davies\folder.jpg and so? It's a hard to move maybe thousends of directories to new structure but I can sure it works. Why did you convert the jpg to png? All my people directory has jpg format Please have a look to my directory structure http://ul.to/d55rdtv5
audigy 1 Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 my directory structure is a,b,c,d in imagesbyname people directory here is my server log: Warn, StringMapTypeDeserializer, Property 'person' does not exist on type 'MediaBrowser.WebDashboard.Api.GetDashboardResource'.
Teddy 100 Posted November 12, 2013 Author Posted November 12, 2013 I'm not a Dev but from message error seems from the server dashboard (tools) "Default media library" on tab "Settings" the path is not marked where the IBN path. Your using a,b,c.... I don't know if MB3 is awaiting for capital letters as I have A,B,C.

ebr 16169 Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Okay, there is a step in there you didn't detail - when you select the actual file by either using the select file button or dragging and dropping, does the image show up in the dialog? I just did this process with a jpg and it worked fine. What browser are you using?
