Chesyre 7 Posted October 13 Posted October 13 Hi all, I'm Chesyre, an Emby admin from France who started coding to improve his own server. I've been running Emby for a few years, and three things kept bugging me: search couldn't find a title typed in another language or under another name, my users had to leave Emby to ask for something new, and the home screen looked the same for everyone So I built a plugin to fix that, on my own. It took about a year and a lot of testing to get it stable It adds five features to the Emby apps your users already have. Everything runs on your server, and there's nothing to install in the apps - LucidSearch: find titles by their other names, in the languages you choose (alternative titles from TMDB), from its own fast index You can also hide result types you don't want, like episodes or seasons - Seerr requests: search can show titles that aren't in your library yet. Press the heart and the request goes to your Seerr (Needs LucidSearch on) - LucidTop: home screen rows: trending and top rated from your own library, plus a Recommended for you row for each user (paid plans) - LucidPush: pop-up messages in the Emby apps, sent by rules you set or from your own scripts through its API - LucidFlow: an AI sorts Seerr requests between your servers in Seerr, using descriptions you write. It works for requests made from Emby and from Seerr No files, metadata or database entries are edited. Switch a feature off and Emby works as before Requirements - Emby Server 4.10 or newer, on Windows or Linux (Docker included) - Works in all the official Emby apps. Only the old Android TV app is partly compatible Plans It needs a license key, which is free and needs no email Free plan: LucidSearch and LucidPush unlimited, 5 Seerr requests and 5 LucidFlow sorts a month, 1 LucidTop row, 1 server, unlimited users and devices Paid plans start at $2/month. They raise those limits (unlimited from $4), add the Recommended for you row and automatic updates: https://lucidcore.tv/pricing LucidCore is a one-person project, and your support is what keeps it going: new features, bug fixes, and keeping up with new Emby versions Links Website: https://lucidcore.tv Download: https://github.com/Chesyre/LucidCore/releases/latest Install guide: https://lucidcore.tv/wiki/installation Docs: https://lucidcore.tv/wiki Bugs and ideas are welcome as a GitHub issue: https://github.com/Chesyre/LucidCore/issues
howllor 53 Posted October 13 Posted October 13 I've set it up on my server and I like the seerr implementation (the emby developers might not be as delighted though ) also, I customised the icons on the posters to look the same as they do in seerr. Something I'd quite like to see is a way of getting a list of a users available requests from seerr into a home screen section. I've currently solved it with tagging the titles accordingly, but if we've already got a connection set up to seerr it feels like it might be possible to handle it automatically?
howllor 53 Posted October 13 Posted October 13 Oh btw I noticed a bug. If I decline a request in seerr, it still shows up as pending in emby

Thank you for the feedback, it’s really great to hear! I actually spoke with the Emby devs before posting and got their green light, though unfortunately, for obvious reasons, his plugin will never make it into the official Emby marketplace That's definitely a great feature idea, I'll make a note of it! 27 minutes ago, howllor said: Oh btw I noticed a bug. Just to make it clear what I meant, ideally this section would be personalised so that each user sees the available titles that they requested themselves. Edited October 13 by howllor

Yes, exactly! The idea is to create a section with LucidTop named 'Seerr' that would allow users to track the status of their requests. It's not super easy, but definitely doable 1
Chesyre 7 Posted Friday at 03:18 PM Author Posted Friday at 03:18 PM The new version has been released, introducing support for displaying requests in lucidtop. As this is an initial release, there may still be a few bugs Additionally, a new, configurable status synchronization task has been added 1
howllor 53 Posted Saturday at 09:29 PM Posted Saturday at 09:29 PM (edited) The seerr section on the home screen works really well. When you first set it up, it takes a little while before it gets populated with past requests from seerr but that's not exactly an issue but maybe something to inform users about so they don't think anything's wrong. The syncing of items to remove the icons off declined requests is working well. Is there a way to adjust how many entries are pulled? It seems like it's capped at 30 right now? On the whole, really nice! Edited Saturday at 09:30 PM by howllor

On the whole, really nice! The first sync can take some time. I'm actually working on optimizing the sync speed right now, so it should be fixed in an upcoming update! Yes, you can increase the 30 item limit directly in the LucidTop configuration. Right above the section position setting, you'll find the option for the maximum number of items to display. Thanks a lot for your feedback!

I actually don't think the first sync is that bad, just that it might need to be mentioned somewhere. Ah I had missed that, thanks! I think 30 is a pretty good number, but good to know it can be adjusted
howllor 53 Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago A question, after you've made a request you get redirected to the Emby home screen, is this intentional? It feels a bit abrupt. I feel staying on the search results page would make more sense.

Yes, that's a solution I found because we can't refresh the poster to display its status on the search page, which could mislead the user into thinking it didn't work. So, I redirect the user to the homepage to reset the search and update the displayed poster status
