Check for plugin updates failure

Hi!

Since yesterday or so i have been getting a notification about "Check for plugin updates failure" in my notifications, and when pressing the exclamationmark it says:

I have never encountered this failure notice before and i haven changed anything lately (that i can think of) other than random Nfo settings, so i dont really know where to look, any help would be much appreciated.

I have no idea what went wrong here, the upload of EmbyIcons seems to have maybe gotten corrupted doing upload or on the server it self.
I have removed all versions of EmbyIcons that is not the release version.

I saw embycons being in the serverlog, but wasnt/isnt sure that its just a matter of Embycons.

Ill do a server reboot ASAP and if that doesnt help ill do an uninstall with fresh reinstall.

Hi!

I have now rebooted my server and the notification is gone and a quick lock at the serverlogs indicated no error, embycons or otherwise.

So i guess your removal sorted it out, thanx again!

Nice.

I seriously don't know what went wrong. 

As said it looks like the latest beta I uploaded got corrupted mid upload or something. Never happened before.

Anyway, I apologize to you and the devs for this!

Have to report the same unfortunately.
Every three hours there's an error in the "notifications".

It should be fixed now as I removed the file causing it. 

Still wondering how it could happen though.

Uploaded a new file and it seems ok now. So the old one must have gotten corrupted some how.

Oh well.. Should work now and i apologize for any problems.

You have nothing to apologize for, its the first time any of your plugins have caused any error, atleast for me, and you solved in a matter of hours and all i had to do is reboot my server.

Embycons is awesome..

Whenever a new version is uploaded, the back end server generates a checksum on it and stores it.  When the server downloads any plugin, it also generates a checksum and compares to the one created at upload.  This is an old-time trick to catch items corrupted during transfer.

Perhaps the checksum operation failed for some reason although, in however many years its been, we've never had that happen.

It's strange. I just changed version number on the file and it worked.

As long as I did nothing wrong then I can relax again.
