Multi versions of movies wont show right since the new update

Hey, I have a problem with the newest Version of Emby. It broke my Multi-Version Naming Convention.

It will show the full movie name instead of the version of this movie.

For example lets take Tenet. My folder structure is as follows:

W:\Movies\Tenet\Tenet (2020)\Tenet (2020) - 4K Remux.mkv

W:\Movies\Tenet\Tenet (2020)\Tenet (2020) - 4K.mkv

now it should only show 4K Remux and 4K as versions but it shows the whole movie name and the version.

 

like Tenet (2020) - 4K Remux

and Tenet (2020) - 4K

instead of 4K Remux and 4K

it never did that before this exact update.

 

Can anyone help?

The base folder name is "Tenet" when it should be "Tenet (2020)".  Why do you have the extra folder in the middle, anyway?

The base folder should be "Tenet (2020)".   

Why has  Emby changed its behaviour?  Probably in the course of fixing something else - cases which got away with it before now don't.

I tried how you said it eventhough before the update everything worked fine like i did it. Still doesn't work

I did both. With and without the extra folder because it worked for me. but it doesnt anymore. I tried without the extra folder but the same problem appears.

Removing the underscore and replacing with at space, shows this.

Without testing - Suspect old version .nfo causing name sticking.  Try removing the .nfo file, if you have them and rescaning the library.

If it matters much, this has always worked for me.  The dashes and spaces it turns out are crucial.  Also a heads up, if you have any movie with the themoviedb puts a "colon :" the folder and file must have a "dash -" to replace the colon or you will experience the same issue as you have above.

Hey  I dont have any nfos stored in the movie folder

Remove the ( - ) in Blueray-XXXXX.mkv

And then insert a ( ) space.

Deeply committed to the spaces and dashes at this point.  I'm positive coming through you that your solution is valid.  @VisionaireTrust us, you want .nfo files next to you media files if nothing else.  Too many threads here people trying to back there way into updating paths when they had to change a drive letter or storage issues.  It will save you significant headaches in the future.

What a strange process media stubs... I didn't even know that is a thing.  Is that for people with CD/DVD/VHS Changers (OTV setup from 1995... look it up kids)???  Isn't everything online?  Why would anything purposely be stored "offline".  It's a rhetorical question btw.

I use it often to test scenario's like this

For me its a testing tool, so I don't have to copy large files to my test server

+1 to Paul, the extra Tenet folder is the issue. move it so its Movies\Tenet (2020)\Tenet (2020) - 4K Remux.mkv and Tenet (2020) - 1080p.mkv etc. the part after the dash becomes the version name. then scan and they should group again
