That's not mentioned in the update notes? 

The backdrop still doesn't go all the way to the top of the screen, there's still a translucent backdrop from the first spotlight item stuck over everything, and I still get the item details screen stuck over the home screen if I long press the info button. 

In TV mode, there's still an unnecessary right arrow button, and there's still no way to access the context menu.

The display time for each spotlight item is still way too long.

A screenshot of what C11 mentioned about a translucent backdrop.  The Lioness CW and the spotlight Peaky Blinders movie mashed together as backdrop.  The backdrop doesn't completely change when scrolling up and down categories on the home screen like it should.

Not even and down. The spotlight has a translucent background for the first spotlight item, regardless of which one is displayed. The translucent one goes to the top of the screen so it's visible even when that item is active.

With regard to the translucent backdrops, that's a server issue not an app issue @Luke

I can replicate on the web as well: Settings -> General -> Enable backdrops. When the home page loads, it loads a random backdrop, then that stays in place over the top of the spotlight backdrop:
