Spymaster 5 Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago This is a weird one! I watched Emby via Tailscale on my Amazon firestick in a hotel room last night - perfectly fine playback - and exited two shows mid-way through. However, when I came to continue watching those shows tonight on my LG C5 TV app neither of them worked properly. One of them - a 4 hour horror documentary - stuttered, froze, and continually attempted to "recover from error" (according to stats for nerds) even when I attempted to restart it - and the other - an episode of Al Hail King Julien won't play at all. The MP4 files - I have to assume - are fine but somehow Emby has "corrupted" playback between one device and the other. I downloaded and re-uploaded the horror documentary to my NAS but the errors were repeated. I think I may have fixed it now by copying the MP4 and uploding the copy. It appears to work okay from the start. I'm using the very latest version of the Emby app for Synology which I downloaded tonight, and the LG TV app is also up to date. BOTH PROGRAMMES PLAYED FINE TONIGHT ON THE EMBY APP FOR ANDROID, HOWEVER. THE PROBLEM APPEARS UNIQUE TO THE LG TV APP Do you know what might be causing this problem?
Spymaster 5 Posted 11 hours ago Author Posted 11 hours ago I returned to Emby on my firestick this morning - connected to a second home TV - and finished the failing episode of All Hail King Julien. When I went back to the LG and returned to the same episode it played normally. So, yeah, there's something weird happening to content that is partially watched (and/or tagged as "Continue watching") between firestick and LG. Other content that I watched in its entirely in the hotel also plays fine on the LG.
Luke 43115 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!
Spymaster 5 Posted 36 minutes ago Author Posted 36 minutes ago Thanks Luke! I've attached the embyserver.txt file and a ffmpeg log that was created at the same time. There is no error message, the content simply freezes with a spinning blue wheel - whether attempting to continue where I left off or re-start from the beginning. Last night my NAS churned away as if trying to provide the file. Tonight the NAS is silent. The only trace of an error is if/when I can get into "stats for nerds" it says, under the streaming section, "Recovering from playback error". All I'm doing, literally, is attempting to continue watching content (1080p) that I started watching on my Amazon firestick 4K Max the previous night. Thanks! embyserver.txt ffmpeg-directstream-706bec16-7c6c-42c1-883c-09af6c8dbd49_1.txt
