Android TV app ignores remote playback commands / ComSkipper cannot seek

I'm seeing an issue with the Emby for Android TV app 2.1.54g on an NVIDIA Shield. I also tried 2.1.55g.

ComSkipper detects commercials correctly, but the Android TV app does not perform the seek. The same plugin works with the regular Emby for Android app on the same Shield.

Does this work for anyone?

This is all i got from debug logs.

I also tested Emby's remote-control API manually against the same Android TV session.

A Seek command returns HTTP 204:

Server: Emby 4.10.0.40
Android TV app: 2.1.54g
ComSkipper: 2.1.1.1
Device: NVIDIA Shield / Android 11

Got it working by forcing a PIN input to log in. So strange—at first, the app was directly playing MPEG-TS, but now it remuxes to HLS with comskipper working. Even my recordings are being remuxed when before it registered as direct play.
