spiller37 0 Posted September 13 Posted September 13 When using the Windows desktop app I am not able to connect to a locally hosted server on the same subnet. The server is still accessible from the same machine in a web browser. I can't find a location for log files. The location of the application is apparently locked behind a Microsoft Store datastore. I really wish they would just release this as a normal windows application and not require the ridiculous MS store. How can I troubleshoot this connectivity issue?
pwhodges 2105 Posted September 14 Posted September 14 The location of the app log files is shown on the About page: Paul
spiller37 0 Posted September 14 Author Posted September 14 Thanks for the location information, I would have never found it because the Help/About is not available until inside the application. All I see in the logs is the following error message. I have wiped the data for the application with Windows Settings and manually be deleting the entire Emby folder in AppData\Local\Packages. After a complete wipe the application will scan and automatically find and add the Emby server on my network, but still can't connect. 2026-09-14 08:32:24.810 Info WebView: Event fired: IConnectionManager_10.credentialsupdated 2026-09-14 08:32:24.810 Error WebView: Failed to connect to any server address. pwhodges 2105 Posted September 14 Posted September 14 Is the network type of your server set to Public (wrong) or Private (correct)? Paul
spiller37 0 Posted September 14 Author Posted September 14 Server is a docker hosted on Unraid. Client has network type set to Private and is able to Test-NetConnection to the port as well as being able to access from the browser. It is really baffling.
Luke 43131 Posted 56 minutes ago Posted 56 minutes ago @spiller37are you still having an issue with this?
spiller37 0 Posted 26 minutes ago Author Posted 26 minutes ago Yes, this is still occurring. I tested it on two different Windows 11 PCs and both have the same issue. The browser can connect fine, the powershell Test-NetConnection command can connect to both the http and https ports, and all Android clients can connect. I attempted to try it on a Windows 10 PC, but couldn't get the Emby installer to even install. Is there some debug diagnostics the enable extra logging on the client to try and determine the failure?
spiller37 0 Posted 20 minutes ago Author Posted 20 minutes ago Got the Windows 10 PC client installed and it showing the same error as the two Windows 11 PCs.
