Movie Playlist, Edit Outside, Export, Import possible?

Hi,

is there any way you could suggest to modify movie playlists?

I created a Top 100 movie playlist with the plugin HomeScreenCompanion. As I basically try to upgrade some of my movies from DVD-sources to Bluray.... Is there an (external or internal) way to modify the playlist entry of this movie? (if I for example add a new version of the movie to my database?)

(Obviously the movie imdb-id is one reference, and I guess a kind of movie ID inside the emby database)

 

And: 

As I found out that movies disappear from a playlist, if I move them to another location (change source path). Is there any chance/setting to keep the movie in the playlist

(and to kind of "relink" this movie with the new source again?)

Hi, there is no automatic relinking. You can edit externally and then just refresh the metadata on the playlist in Emby after.

Is there somewhere a howto (export the playlist - edit - and re-import it) on this?

Would it not work if you create an mdlist of the movies you want in the list and have Home Screen companion use that as the source and tag the items, should that then auto update even if you move or rename the items?

Thank you for the input, definitely a plan

But as I don't have a solution at the moment, which movie-format is auto-selected with the plugin, I was hoping/thinking of managing some lists manually in the meantime.

Second thought:

For additional adding some "orphan" movies - still missing in my collection - I was thinking of "creating" placeholder folders and mediafiles in a kind of "OFFLINE" main folder meanwhile.

And if I get one of these movies, I could replace the short "black-media-file" with the new one and move the new movie to his corresponding main-folder in my library. (dvd or bluray or...)
