Missing Collections since Update

Hi.

 

Since updating to Emby server Version 4.9.5.0 , my manually created movie collections have disappeared from Collections.

Other collections are still showing (assuming these are auto-created collections), but my manually created ones are gone. Why? Can they be recovered or do I have to create them all again?

For example, the movie "Home Alone" was in a collection I created called "Xmas" but also in a collection called "Home Alone", which had been automatically created.

The Xmas collection is no longer showing, but the Home Alone movie still shows in the Home Alone Collection.

Have also noticed that some default primary artwork has changed too

This is similar to my issue. I have lost close to 100 movies in a collection I manually created and added movies to called " next up movies"

How did you fix?

I fear that I'm going to have to recreate my collections, then this may happen again in the future.

I am still waiting for a reply. I have already had to redo all my collections I made when I first started using Emby. I had to start all over, not fun and hours of work. 

I am looking into Home Screen Companion v4.1.4.0. to see if that helps.

Thanks, not heard of Home Screen Companion but interested to know your thoughts/feedback when you get going with it. Sounds like it could be an option.

If I have to rebuild my collections, I want some confidence that they'll stay.

HI, apologies for the disruption. It may have been something related to the update. Beyond that, this is not normal.

Do your  movies have nfo files next to them?

Using the example, Home Alone has a nfo but some of the recently created movies do not

I usually just move the movie file and any subtitles files into my movie collection, any pictures and nfo I think are then auto-generated somehow?

I feel the same, I have spent countless hours organizing and adding movies to the 11 collections I made and would hope when I create them again, they stay.

Has the new Home Screen Collection plugin been any better for you?

Have just tried to install it, but must be doing something wrong. Put the dll in the Emby plugins folder, started Emby, but no difference - can't see how to access the plugin?

That plugin only works on 4.10 Beta

I don't know what Emby beta is, so I'll assume that I'm not using it

Ok then you need to wait to use that plugin, till beta becomes Release.

I'll just have to be patient for this to be put into release - hopefully will be very soon.

Ok, so I'm now running the 4.10 beta

I shutdown Emby and put the HomeScreenCompanion.dll in the plugins folder

Restarted Emby, but can't see HomeScreenCompanion anywhere - what am I missing?

I think a few of my plugins aren't working either - for example, I installed CoverArt but can't see how I access it? I can modify the settings in the Plugin, but can't see how I actually use the plugin?

Under Advanced > Plugins, I don't see the AutoTag as you've highlighted? Mine looks like....

Are you sure you put it in the right folder.

And with the right permissions.

I don't use Synology so can't help with that.
