Popup info for next video in the queue.

I like to watch music videos 'MTV style'. The library is 'Music Videos' and I usually play from folders I've sorted by type of music with 'random' selected. I've notice on my ROKU client that occasionally I'll see a popup at the end of the video of what video is queued up to play next with a button to select 'Play Now'. I've looked at the file type and metadata on videos this happened on and didn't find anything different from other videos. My question is what triggers this? If possible I'd like this to happen on every video, especially if I can control the info displayed. Right now it seems to happen very randomly. I have not tested on other clients yet. This is currently running on a Windows 10 server if that matters.

Hi, that just happens in a play queue when you get to the end of one file. There’s J.P. specific info for it other than the fields that you can already edit in the metadata editor.

J.P.? Is this a different database? Something external, from the Internet? Just trying to understand the mechanics that trigger this behavior. I've been using Emby for about a year now and still unlocking some of the nice features. This would be a cool option if there is any way I could control it.

Sorry, there's no specific info for it other than the fields that you can already edit in the metadata editor. If any information came from the internet it would be from the metadata fetchers that  you have enabled in the options for that library.

OK. I'm confused. I still don't know what triggers it. It randomly shows up about once every 10 to 15 videos that have played in the queue. This is in folder view, random play selected. If it's not supposed to happen that's fine. Just figured it was a feature and trying to figure out how to utilize it.

It should be for every video in the queue but @speechlescan elaborate more on what the roku app is looking for.

I think it probably shows for all videos (except the last) you just aren't waiting long enough for it to show.  When it shows depends on the length of the video being played.

I just let them play, they are music videos, mostly live performances. Today I tested on the web client and didn't get any of the pop ups. Is there a setting in the system that might trigger it, such as length of the video itself? They run anywhere from 3 to 20 minutes. There has to be some sort of trigger as to when the pop up does show up. Based on my testing it seems to be totally random.

Yes, very short videos are not going to have the next up information.  I believe the threshold is at 5min.

Just tested Windows client and no 'Up Next' pop up on videos over 5 minutes. Is there a setting for this threshold on server or client side?

Just confirmed one of the videos the pop up appeared for is only 2 minutes long. This seems to be showing up in all the clients I've tested so far. Windows and Theater as well.

Does anybody know if this is controlled by a plug-in? I saw this pop-up in a playlist of train videos. Still pretty random and only on Roku.

I think we need to look at one specific example of when you think it should show but it isn't, and then we can give you a specific answer as to why. I think right now we're generalizing a bit too much here and that makes it hard to answer.

Why it triggers randomly and not all the time is my question at this point. Maybe one out of 10 videos. Nothing to do with length of video. Happens in both a 'Music Video' library and a 'Mixed Content' library  that I've seen so far. I'm a little surprised no one has noticed this before. That's why I was asking about Plug Ins. That would be unique to everyone's server configuration. I'm in the process of building a Linux based server (currently Windows 10) and it will be interesting to see if it shows up there.
