New Folder Icons in 3.5.49

Since the latest update of the Android client to version 3.5.49, I suddenly see ugly gray folder icon borders around my custom media folders within my libraries. Please remove this or at least make it optional to disable!

I have meticulously organized my media collection into folders and subfolders myself and invested months of fine-tuning into the user interface with my own graphics, folders, hierarchies, etc. This level of customization—especially at the file level—is the absolute only reason I decided to purchase an Emby Lifetime Subscription back then. If you now throw all of this out the window over time, all of my hard work will have been for nothing.

PLEASE do not just autonomously introduce fundamental changes to the UI—especially when they are not optional but forced upon everything. This completely contradicts your own philosophy that Emby should be fully customizable by the user.

Otherwise, please tell me how I can roll back this update and freeze the version status in the future.

P.S.: Since this is only on the shield client and not in the web client, i can't provide a screenshot of your folder frames. I will provide a Web scrrenshot of my medie structure instead (before the folder issue). As you can see I have organized all of my media in folders and subfolders, since the database engine based view is crap - for the provided genres are mostly wrong or at least misleading and therefore unusable. NOW on my shield I have a gray windows like folder frame around all of my own folder grafics e.g. around every single music album. which sucks!

Please! In the same ugly boat here. Like sucker punching all that hard work in the gut.  Would love to also re-bring up the request to get rid of the folder overlay icons as well.

While we wait for the option to disable this ugly change, I've managed to bring back the previous UI at least on the web client using this custom css in settings:

yes, add an option to turn this off.... but on another note it's not working properly I guess.... Every library where I use strm files or symlinks almost every folder is the old way without that gray...

 

When I make a library also using strm or symlink with tags to use vantage point the gray folders show... At first I thought maybe the folder dimensions weren't proper... no idea now.

just regular strm or symlink with no vantage point tags on 2 show gray folders

It looks like 2 nfo files for one movie when you view from movies view or folders view for the gray folder that seems to be working while the other nfos are same from both views

Library Y:\1950s - 1960s
Drive runs out of room so I added this path to the library

G:\1950s - 1960s (this has 9 movies)
Then added another path:
F:\1950s - 1960s (this has 3 movies)

Folder view shows 3 folders and y:\1950s - 1960s has 229 movies and G:\1950s - 1960s has 9 movies and F:\1950s - 1960s has 3 movies. Once I click one of these 3 folders it does not show the gray folder and the screen shows no options of Movies - Folders etc

Movies view shows 241 movies. This seems to be the main factor somehow, otherwise is seems to be a few that don't follow that pattern... I'll narrow it down

ok .. When I reproduce using the exact same files it works, but in a new library everything works no matter the path, strm vs .mp4 etc .... but now I found something... the few folders that have the gray while none of the other folders have that, they have folders I named WORK with poster pics such as poster-1.jpg etc... and I mean the folders in gray I posted above such as Frankenstein... But when reproducing I did not copy those work folders so I'll play with it some more.

OK it should be pretty straight forward. You won't see it on an individual movie file, but you will see it on the parent folder.

ok, it seems ANY folder inside the main movie folder not named TRAILERS, even an empty folder cause that issue.

 

I seem to be getting mixed results because the new library for a test shows the gray at all times... even the individual movie. I actually thought it looked good on the parent folder (slight different color or whatever would be nicer, or a user choice to edit).. I'm at it too long.. tomorrow I look at it.
