Recordings "New" vs "Live"

If this is asked my apologies since searching the terms would not get me quickly to my question. My question is, is there any way to treat episodes with the "Live" setting just like "New". Example, under live you can limit recordings to "New". However, my guide provider and I'm assuming others do the same, they send "Live" for live events. If you select "New" it does not record any "Live" or "repeat" or no designation. If you want the live versions, you have remove the "New" option and it records all and the only way to limit to a specific time is to select the around time option. So in the case of the two below I would say around 6AM.  The problem is if there is a live version of that show at different times they you only get the one.

HI, I don't think we would do that under the hood as I'm not sure that's a safe change with all guide data sources. This has come up before and what i think we should do is change the new option to let you pick from new, live, etc.

Yes if you can pick new and live as options that's all I'm asking for. It would make setting up recordings much simpler when live is what's there.

Thanks.

This is why Catch-up tv is fantastic on Emby, you never miss a show or event and you never have to record anything you just rewind time and play.

A good example of a potential conflict is the Gracenote name "NFL Football" These can show either Live games or New games but the "new" games are the classic replays.

@emveepeeAgreed and sometimes the guide I use has shows older than me marked as "new" so I know there will be conflicts or one-offs. But at least current shows on network TV that uses "Live" as their live version versus a repeat of that show several hours later would be able to be separated with a "Live" option.
