Nabukodonosor 22 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Hey guys. A few questions about the AndroidTV app. I remember before there was a checkmark on watched movies/tv shows. Now it's gone. There's nothing there. Actually, I've just checked, it's the same thing on the regular Android app. Why did you remove that feature, I really liked it? See my screenshot, for example After life tv show. And the second thing. I have in one room Xiaomi TV box 3rd gen. How do I get that popup menu (2nd screenshot)? This was taken on my Firestick and its remote has a hamburger button so I can get this menu. Tried holding the OK button on my Xiaomi remote, didn't work. Holding the same button in the regular app works. 3rd question. In the same menu, on Android TV app lacks the option "Remove from Continue watching". Again, the same question, why did you remove it? Are you guys trying to make people switch to the regular app by cutting down on features on the TV app? I mean, honestly, the regular app sucks.

TV Series (and all "containers") stopped showing a watched mark probably close to 10 years ago. This is because they show an unwatched count so, if we also showed a watched check, every single one of them would have a green circle in that same spot which would be harder to decipher at a glance. 1 hour ago, Nabukodonosor said: And the second thing. It isn't sending a long-press when you hold down the button. 1 hour ago, Nabukodonosor said: In the same menu, on Android TV app lacks the option "Remove from Continue watching". Make sure you are running the most up to date version of the app.
Nabukodonosor 22 Posted 5 hours ago Author Posted 5 hours ago (edited) Quote Hi. TV Series (and all "containers") stopped showing a watched mark probably close to 10 years ago. Well, this simply is not true. I didn't even use Emby 10 years ago, I started using it maybe 3-4 years ago. Also, I remember this feature because I was using it constantly last year. So.... Quote This must be an issue with that remote. It isn't sending a long-press when you hold down the button. Nope. A new remote and box. And as I said, the same thing works in the regular app. Soo...the button works just fine. Quote Make sure you are running the most up to date version of the app. I am. If not the last then the previous version. And on both the firetv and android tv, this feature is missing. So, again, wrong. It's not on my end. Edited 5 hours ago by Nabukodonosor

Certainly more than a few years that we have not shown watched marks on Series. Here is a post from 2021 that references the behavior as already being that way for a long time: 31 minutes ago, Nabukodonosor said: Nope. A new remote and box. And as I said, the same thing works in the regular app. Soo...the button works just fine Some manufacturers have changed exactly how a long-press works and this one is not sending in the same way it used to. 31 minutes ago, Nabukodonosor said: If not the last then the previous version 1

It is a little more than 12. Hence this user in 2014 wanted larger unwatched count on their TV series (and collections) artwork. Then in 2018 options for the green watched checkmark were discussed. This isn't a recent change. It can be discussed again. Edited 1 hour ago by speechles
Nabukodonosor 22 Posted 44 minutes ago Author Posted 44 minutes ago Dude, come on. I watch some movies, and after I watch them I leave them on my server so that my girlfriend can watch them. We used that Watched checkmark, so she can know what movies she can watch. That was until a few months ago. No need to try to convince me that it was all a dream. And how about this post I posted 3 years ago, where you can see the checkmark: Waw that also a dream? And I will find more screenshots, I have some from more recent.

You're mixing multiple watched indicators, so to clarify that: Movies get watched checkmark once fully played. Episodes get watched checkmark once fully played. TV Shows do not get watched checkmark when fully played (and they haven't had it for over a decade). Unwatched episodes count just decreases and eventually disappears when all episodes played. No checkmark.
Nabukodonosor 22 Posted 33 minutes ago Author Posted 33 minutes ago Oh, I thought he was talking about content in general, not just tv shows. My bad. I know there were checkmarks a few months ago. Didn't know that only applies to movies. Which is kinda not useful.
