pwhodges 2083 Posted Saturday at 10:02 AM Posted Saturday at 10:02 AM What client? What device? What server version? Y'know, anything that might give a clue what you are even using... Paul 1
BradFeuerhelm 1 Posted Saturday at 10:37 PM Author Posted Saturday at 10:37 PM sorry for that I will need hand holding for a bit. Server is installed on the C drive. Server version 4.9.5.0 Windows 11 25H2 up to date as of 8-15-2026 Not sure what the client is? All media is on external hard drive (3) So far just going through the setup phase. No clients (I think)? No body connected to the server yet as I'm going through the setting up of libraries. Just trying to get the built in player to use closed captions without crashing. Please be patient as I don't know anything about Emby. Tried others but most were a pain to setup. Emby is been the easiest to work with till now.
Luke 42902 Posted Sunday at 12:31 AM Posted Sunday at 12:31 AM Hi there, please attach the Emby server log from when the problem occurred: How to Report a Problem Thanks!

BradFeuerhelm 1 Posted Sunday at 02:41 PM Author Posted Sunday at 02:41 PM Also I looked and could not find a problem filed that the emby server sorts out of order. T's in a's, i.e.."the" in the c's basically not alphabetical. Can't find a setting for soring the library alphabetically or any other way/
BradFeuerhelm 1 Posted Sunday at 03:13 PM Author Posted Sunday at 03:13 PM Attached is a screenshot of the sorting problem
user24 402 Posted Sunday at 03:36 PM Posted Sunday at 03:36 PM (edited) Emby sorts alphabetically using the "Sort Title" tag, but shows the "Title" tag. Emby automatically removes "The", "A" and some other prefixes from "Sort Title". Therefore "The Adam Project" in your example is likely sorting as "Adam Project". You can check this in the metadata editor for the individual movies. Here's a similar example from my library: You can change the "Sort Title" by adding "The" if you want these type of titles under "T". There are lots of sorting options that you should be able to access: Edited Sunday at 03:43 PM by user24 1

BradFeuerhelm 1 Posted 47 minutes ago Author Posted 47 minutes ago I also have a problem with duplicates of the same video. If I delete one then it deletes everything in the folder. Just want to delete the second copy. Anybody know how to do that?
