Hi

I'm a complete noob here so bare with me will I learn.

 

I'm having crashes trying to play dvd files.

second, crashes during closed captions on/off toggle, also changing aspect ratio or quality.

Please help, thanks

What client?  What device?  What server version?  Y'know, anything that might give a clue what you are even using...

sorry for that I will need hand holding for a bit.

Server is installed on the C drive.

Server version 4.9.5.0

Windows 11 25H2 up to date as of 8-15-2026

Not sure what the client is?

All media is on external hard drive (3)

So far just going through the setup phase. No clients (I think)?

No body connected to the server yet as I'm going through the setting up of libraries.

Just trying to get the built in player to use closed captions without crashing. 

Please be patient as I don't know anything about Emby. Tried others but most were a pain to setup.

Emby is been the easiest to work with till now.

Also I looked and could not find a problem filed that the emby server sorts out of order. T's in a's,  i.e.."the" in the c's basically not alphabetical.  Can't find a setting for soring the library alphabetically or any other way/
