Movies subtitles issue

Hello again to all,

I would appreciate your opinion on something, as I'm not sure what's causing this issue.

I'm downloading the movie again in a different quality so I can do some more testing.

The movie is Ballerina (2025), and I have the 72 GB Remux version.

The subtitles work perfectly in players such as VLC and BSPlayer.

I've also tried changing the subtitle encoding, but the issue remains the same.

Emby detects and lists the subtitle tracks, and I can select them normally, but they are not displayed during playback.

I'm only experiencing this issue with this specific movie. I don't have this problem with any other movies or MKV files.

The issue only occurs when playing the movie through Xiaomi TV Box.

When I play the exact same movie through Emby on my computer, the subtitles work perfectly.
Thank you

Android tv box MiTV-AFKRO
android version 11
emby server Version 4.9.5.0

English SUBRIP OK
English PGSSUB OK
Greek MY SRT not ok
i try to download also from emby search ...same thing...Greek srt file not ok
I started playing the movie and skipped ahead about 2–3 minutes until there was dialogue. I then selected each subtitle track one by one, as mentioned above. The embedded English subtitles display correctly, but the SRT  Greek subtitles do not appear during playback.

Hi.  Can you try searching for our standard android app (Just "Emby" on Amazon and "Emby for Android on Google) on the same device's app store and see how that compares?

Thanks.

Yes,
thank youuuuuuuuuuu 🙂
I installed the standard
Emby for Android app (not Emby for Android TV, which was the app I was previously using), and the subtitles worked correctly.
So the issue seems to occur only with the Emby for Android TV app on Xiaomi TV Box.

Do you know why this might be happening? Is there a known difference in subtitle handling between the standard Android app and the Android TV app?

The universal standard app is the way forward. The TV app has fallen behind on these kinds of updates. Thanks.
