Folder images missing in Emby Theater (3.0.20/21 Legacy)

When browsing a Movie library and selecting "Folders" from the top tab menu the folder images appear to be missing and is displaying a gray version instead.  I tried setting a new image for the folder and did not fix the issue.  The folder images work with version 4.9.5.13 but fail on all versions after that (current 4.9.5.24).  The functionality still works but the images are just missing.  This happens with all libraries.

Hey that started happening for me yesterday with the latest beta windows app in all menus, movies, tv, collections.

Trying to figure out whats happening. Web server shows them correctly.

Yes, the web client works.  I see the bug which was introduced in 4.9.5.14.  Looks like the same logic was shared between ET legacy and windows app version.  It's not a show stopper but just wanted to flag it for the dev team.

Thank goodness it’s not me, I’ve been restarting the server,  computers all sorts and it persists.

I'm only reporting the issue with ET 3.0.20/21.  I'm not using the Windows App so I can't verify that it is happening there.  I was commenting on @Mahinepuapost regarding having the same issue with the latest beta Windows App version.

Interesting update, 4.9.5.24 to 26.0.0.  Is that the new app-version numbering or was it suppose to 4.9.5.26?  The "Folders" images are now displaying but I think the gray background card is including the text.

Is this the new look by design?

We are starting proper numbering for the core UI code, which is included in apps, in the server and the hosted web app on https://app.emby.media/

This will allow us to better diagnose and user to better understand when and why there might be differences regarding to bugs and behavior.

So after 2 additional updates (26.0.1 and 26.0.2) the folders still look like this (version 26.0.1 added bigger radius to the corners).  Is this the new look by design?  It seems inconsistent with the rest of the UI and looked correct back on version 4.9.5.13.

It’s not by design. It’s just that freaking with the older chromium’s version is a work in progress.

I upgraded my local version of Electron to version v40.0.0, Chromium v144.0.7559.60, Node v24.11.1, v8 v14.4.258.16, and this what the Folder images look like now.  Is this the intended designed look?

 

Emby Theater 3.0.20 is currently using Electron v11.5.0 which was released back in August 30, 2021.

Electron 11.x.y has reached end-of-support as per the project's support policy Developers and applications are encouraged to upgrade to a newer version of Electron.

That's the current intended look yes.
