When you show that little cutout of the metadata editor, I can't tell what you clicked on, how you got there, etc. That means Emby has detected it as a movie based on your library options and file naming. how are your files named and organized? what did you configure as the content type of the library? I right clicked the file, edit metadata, and where the box for themoviedb, the appropriate ID is there. Iam then clicking the little box off to the right and it links to the wrong area/movie. Also when you import the metadata using that info instead of linking it to the appropriate show it will fill in the metadata for the movie it links to on the site instead. If you look at the url of the site there is a /movie section and a /tv section. It links to the wrong section. ALF_S01E01_Pilot.mkv Library option is set to TV Show Edited August 8 by JokerJ420
Luke 42942 Posted August 8 Posted August 8 Quote ALF_S01E01_Pilot.mkv can you please provide more detail? how are your files organized? how many emby libraries have you created, and what are the folders added to each one? You must have something setup as movies.

The setting I mentioned is in your user display preferences. It is not under collections and is only used in a TV series.

You already have the season groupings under the series. Hi. This is the most important question - why are you trying to create collections for TV seasons when those are already created for you in a proper TV library? 1

The movies are setup as movies and TV shows as TV shows. I have 14 different libraries.

Like He-Man is misidentified as the new movie and automatically uses the metadata from that for some reason. Try it.... Doesnt matter what setting you use when it is misidentifying shows and movies. I dont think you are following what I am saying. Go back to the posts I mentioned about the TVDB and MovieDB are not going to the correct sections of the site to identify the shows. Try it... I even included images.

This is the most important question - why are you trying to create collections for TV seasons when those are already created for you in a proper TV library? Does it really matter how I have it setup? Maybe its the way I want it to be. I mean either way it should work right? Honestly I really think you guys arent seeing the points that are being made. This really has nothing to do with what I am saying... Things are being misidentified Emby is not going to the correct sections of the MovieDB and TVDB to correctly identify shows.... It goes to the movie section regardless if you have it setup as a TV show or movie... I showed the example in a previous post with images. Having to re-do all of your collections when moving things to a newer drive stinks Be nice to have a feature where you can mass select things to change images instead of having to do them singally. It shouldnt matter how you want your TV shows setup...
Luke 42942 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Hi there, please attach the Emby server log from when the problem occurred: How to Report a Problem Thanks!

Within the base folder (s) for each library does each movie have its own directory with the correct name and year of that one movie? https://emby.media/support/articles/Movie-Naming.ht Does each series have its seasons (even if only one) in a separate Season nn directory within the series folder? https://emby.media/support/articles/TV-Naming.html Those rules as I stated them are perhaps stricter than necessary in some situations, but if you follow them, misidentification (and specifically confusion between series and movies) should be a thing of the past.
