recent nvidia shield update

no issues with emby on the shield until recent app update.  true 7.1 audio no longer works, tried several movies.  the app is more sluggish going backward and forward within video.

I did a quick look just in case others discussing; I saw nothing, but not much time to look.

I apologize for the delay.

The emby server is up2date and I was having no issue with the truehd7.1 until I updated the shield emby app. Issue remains with only truehd7.1 audio codec.  When I change to another codec, no problem.  Emby is still awesome.  Thank you.

NOTE:  when I updated the app it gave the option to try another emby app android interface.  I did not wish to push my luck like if I did not like it could I go back, but now I wonder.

I will also endeavor to return to the previous app on the shield.

Just in case you mind not tolerating for more questions:  what is the best source for previous versions?  I found 2.1.48g at https://apkpure.com/emby-for-android-tv/tv.emby.embyatv.  

I am surprised I have yet to find it from emby.  Is it so strange to request previous versions of an app?

if apkpure is not trusted, please recommend how to go to previous app, 2.1.48g.

Hi.  Either use the standard app as suggested or you can join the beta for the Android TV app and I believe your issues should be solved.

Thank you for the response, but you lost me.  I am trying to go back to 2.1.48g.  I see no option from emby to download that app version.  I found a source, but I am wary.   I asked about that source.

no matter, I will try the beta.

Hi.  We do not officially support going backwards to old versions.

The beta should solve your issues or you can use the standard app.

You would have to uninstall the current version of the app to go back a version, and it would remove all of your saved settings.

Sign up for the beta as EBR has suggested and report any problems if you are still experiencing them.

The latest beta version is 2.1.54, which is available to download here.

Once downloaded, you will need to sideload it onto your Shield.

Which model Shield do you have?

You can also sign up for the beta through the store and not have to sideload.  This will also provide automatic updates as they come.

Thank you for the question, Luke.  

The problem is not solved.   I will not waste your time trying to explain why I selected solution after beta try, but I apologize for the misread on my part.

Symptoms since the last emby app update to include the beta:  fast forward and rewind sluggish/slow for the app to get there when before near instantaneous.  the color of the video often darkens.  the subtitles are hollow almost unreadable.   this problem is only with truehd7.1, not any other audio codec; therefore, I have a functioning emby app.  

I have nvidia shield, updated and the app is emby android tv.

NOTE:  something that should help the developers:  now running qnap quts hero h6.0.2.3591 published 08-24, beta.  long story as I do not normally do beta for os.

Again, thank you for asking and my apologies for the time taken to get back to you.  I do not spend much time in forums.
