Na just like this http://serverIP:8096/Moonfin/Web/#/server-select Thanks though, was worth a try. I do love the seerr integration, for the family to be able to add things on their own is great but I need the apps to be stable and just work. 1
bingbong69_ 17 Posted July 30 Author Posted July 30 It's definitely an emby specific issue, I'll fix it very soon for the new release, dont worry. Thank you for the patience, its been a long week. 1 1

bingbong69_ 17 Posted July 30 Author Posted July 30 Happy you like it, have a lovely rest of your day/night!
Lawrage 14 Posted July 30 Posted July 30 One other thing @bingbong69_, with the home screen slideshow that shows 10 random movies / shows. Is there anywhere where we can control what shows in here. ie - only unwatched items or only movies etc...
Lawrage 14 Posted July 30 Posted July 30 Been playing around with this on multiple devices tonight iPhone (iOS) - No issue so far. Everything looks clean and direct plays just fine. Shield - Like above no issues. LG TV - Only encountered the Top banner bug, aside from that seems ok. Apple TV 4k - UI is really nice BUT barely anything direct plays. Everything is transcoding when they direct play just fine in the native emby app. @bingbong69_are there any known issues where Apple TV is not direct playing?

mlcarson 15 Posted August 1 Posted August 1 I'm using the AppleTV Moonfin client on Emby and it's more stable than the Emby client with one exception -- it does not playback live TV via HDHomerun devices. LiveTV from other M3U sources such as the FrndlyTV work fine.
buba 3 Posted August 1 Posted August 1 Hi, I've been using Moonfin and it works very well, almost as well as or better than the original Emby version, but I'm having a problem with the games, haha. I still can't get them to work. Is there a tutorial for beginners? Also, in the TV Live section, I'd like a search function or a way to see the channels like in the regular version, instead of just a list, since sometimes there are too many channels in an M3U file and it's tedious to find the last one. Everything else I've tested works excellently. I've tested it on Android TV, Xiaomi Chromecast 4 and Q96, as well as a Roku, and it works very well.
Lawrage 14 Posted August 2 Posted August 2 Just to say thanks. Apple TV update has fixed a number of issues. Libararies are now showing correctly. Direct play is now wokring on movies instead of transcoding.
mlcarson 15 Posted August 3 Posted August 3 One thing I noticed about Moonfin is that it doesn't seem to show subtitles on LiveTV. This seemed to be true on both Emby and Jellyfin.
IAmHugh 77 Posted August 3 Posted August 3 (edited) Just added to my PC and Fire TV and really like it so far. Thanks and nice job so far. EDIT: Two things I ran across so far. On the Fire TV app I was able to show all my libraries, but can seem to to that as the default screen on first launch of Moonfin. The other is it would be nice to have search pretty much everywhere, or at least a key combo to bring it up no mater where one is in the app. Edited August 3 by IAmHugh

This new dev. has posted this from a Zero Post Emby Account. It might be leaching your data. It comes with a plugin, and that could give away sensitive info about you setup. It might leach login credentials / IP adresses + what ever metadata to sell. I would strongly advice about NOT using this. @Neminem just to play Devil's advocate, your concerns are valid, but the app is open source on GitHub. You could copy it, open it in VSCode and ask Claude Opus 4.8 to check for anything you're concerned about. The project has over 50+ contributors so far which is also not trivial. 1
IAmHugh 77 Posted Wednesday at 09:58 AM Posted Wednesday at 09:58 AM I'm assuming Claude Opus is another AI? If so that's just like using the security tools Microsoft provides in Windows instead of going out and getting security apps that don't benefit them. From a security standpoint I've never thought it was a good or smart idea to use the tools created by a OS manufacture that has nothing but problems with their OS to make sure you're safe.

Yep, Claude Opus is an AI model, but the analogy doesn't really hold up. It's made by Anthropic, whose entire business *is* building AI models — it's not like an OS vendor bundling a half-baked antivirus as an afterthought. If anything, it's the opposite of your example: I'm going to a company whose one and only product is the tool I'm using. Also, using AI as a programmer isn't about blindly trusting it. It's a tool, same as a compiler, a linter, an IDE with autocomplete, or Stack Overflow back in the day. I still read, understand, and test everything before it ships. The skill hasn't disappeared — it's just shifted toward reviewing, architecting, and knowing when the output is wrong. Judging devs for using AI is like judging carpenters for using power tools. By the way, the project it's fully open source — the entire codebase is up on GitHub for anyone to inspect. If you have concerns about quality or security, the best way to back them up is to actually look at the code. If you find something questionable, point it out (or even open an issue) — that would genuinely help the project and I'm sure the maintainers would welcome it. That's the nice thing about open source: nobody has to speculate. The code speaks for itself. Edited Wednesday at 10:11 AM by vdatanet
IAmHugh 77 Posted Wednesday at 10:19 AM Posted Wednesday at 10:19 AM The fact that it's open source is the only reason I was willing to give it a spin. As for the analogy not holding up yes it does cause at this point with all the mistakes AI has made, all the mistakes AI devs have made, AI search making up what they don't know using AI to check AI's work is just a bad idea.

Fair enough on giving it a spin because it's open source — that's exactly how it should work. But "AI checking AI" isn't actually what happens in a serious workflow. The AI writes; the checking is done by things that can't hallucinate: the compiler, the type checker, the test suite, and a human who reads the diff before merging. That's the same pipeline human-written code goes through, because humans make plenty of mistakes too — that's literally why code review and CI exist in the first place. Comparing it to AI search making things up mixes two different problems. A made-up citation can slide past you because there's no automatic way to catch it. Made-up code gets caught the moment you run it. The safety net isn't trust in the AI — it's a process that assumes *every* author, human or not, gets things wrong. 1

Now if only someone would answer my one question how did I manage to see all my libraries on the main screen in the Fire TV app so I can do it again, and can I do it in the PC app?
IAmHugh 77 Posted Thursday at 04:15 PM Posted Thursday at 04:15 PM Realized I just need to scroll down to see the libraries. Now the question is can I remove the posters that take up the entire screen and just have the libraries at the top?
arrbee99 1871 Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago (edited) Moonfin 2.4.0 seems to be out, but not seeing anywhere to download it (on Github releases page) ? - Nevermind, found it 30 seconds after I typed the above... Edited 20 hours ago by arrbee99
bingbong69_ 17 Posted 20 hours ago Author Posted 20 hours ago Hi @arrbee99the files are in the assets area here, for android tv you can use Downloader code 3752238 (google hasnt approved it yet), for tvOS its already released in the app store, iOS should be following shortly 1
arrbee99 1871 Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Thanks. Yep - 23 assets listed followed by assets....Hang on thats not 23, click on assets button - oops.
arrbee99 1871 Posted 58 minutes ago Posted 58 minutes ago Just updated. Under Moonbase, I opened Emby dashboard, went to Moonfin down left hand side, and it opened on top of existing page, not instead of it. Need to f5 to tidy it up. Windows 11 on a 2560x1080 display.
