FourCorners 8 Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago I have always been one who loves spending time reading reviews I find it interesting reading what people think of apps and what not. After using emby since day one I know what the clients want and what they don't want. Also I know that one thing may not please everyone and people will disagree with what others like it's just part of who we are. I do know that most on demand apps like hulu prime disney and loads of others especially directv are not the best when it comes to user experience like the sluggish load times the glitches and lagg and buffering all kinds of stuff. But, here's where it gets interesting, with all the big BIG companies why has none of them approached emby and suggested to use this emby platform as a one for all? Perhaps use an api from disney to load everything into an actual server that works without them spending millions on developers that make disney app bad. I just always found this interesting a server & client like emby that has been around way longer than any of the on demand apps with a fantastic reputation why has none of them approached emby asking if they will support an api for there clients to use emby? Instead of spending millions on crap coded disney app they only need to allow an api for us to run it on emby. A company like disney would save so much money and make even more money by letting people use an app that runs smooth as butter I just don't get it. Most people don't pirate content because of the cost they do it because pirated apps run better, emby is not a pirated app but it runs pirated content better than and other paid app on the market. People want stability something that works good feels good looks good its all right in front of there noses it's called EMBY MEDIA CENTER. Some companies took a gamble on plex and look how bad that turned out, no one can code at plex community and they ban users who ask for help or complain, wtf .. Who wants to be with a company like that, not me. So I was just reading comments on a big company app and loads of people saying it freezes it won't play it refuses to let them watch where they left off if at all. Why do big companies keep paying for loser coders that can't code when we have emby that works and yes the coders can code. Networks need to wake up and listen to customer base or they will tank and bankrupt.
Luke 42724 Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Brands like Disney want to control the experience. Once they have their own apps there isn’t much of a reason for them to let other apps use their content. They’re able to get enough users on their own.
FourCorners 8 Posted 21 hours ago Author Posted 21 hours ago Sad and it's a problem not for me but for them, I can spend time and get anything I want online for free and so can other people. If they sold an api for users to watch content on an emby server then I would have no reason to look through anything to download but 2026 I think the greed got worse. All the big corps need to do is sell api keys for people to enter into an emby server then they have no reason to pay app builders nor do they have the stress of hosting servers for garbage apps that dont work. I pay for a lot of apps I test apps I view and see for myself do they actually work? I form my own opinion I read the reviews I test apps it always ends the same. Apps are non working people are pissed and no one cares at the big corps. If enough people pirate they will feel it and only then will things change. 1
One2Go 122 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I have longtime accounts for getting content at closed communities and can get any content that I want for free and could use Emby for organization and playback of it. However I have settled for a happy medium. There is content that is not readily available or spread among multiple services because it is done in other countries like Australia and New Zealand or the UK. In addition there are niche sites that offer content that is not available anywhere else. From those sites the content I like I get via ways that I have done so for decades, In addition I have subscribed to a few streaming accounts that I like because of its content and available sports. I subscribed to Apple TV+ because of F1 and it has excellent SciFi and premier content to boot. I also have Netflix now for as long as I can remember plus will evaluate Paramount+, Peacock, ESPN+ at the next yearly renewal. I agree that the network suits don't care as long as the bottom line flatters the investors. Firefly anyone? The pilot had to be rewritten in days because the suits didn't like it and cause massive confusion among viewers until about 3 episodes in when the original pilot aired. If this is how they deal with content creators, the consumers have no chance at all.
