TV Episode Naming Convention

Hi All,

Please can you help here. I am going round and round a little and can't work out what's happening.

Been using Emby a while and have a good file structure around TV Shows  File path is (Series - Season X - Episode)

Episode named like so -  "Silo-s03e01.mp4"

For some reason they have stopped pulling through the metadata for each episode like the others even though they are structured the same? I have added the example of TV show Silo in the attachments.

The only reason I can think of is I have started using handbrake to compress the files down to a storable size. Will this have one kind of effect? Will I have to do some other type of file manipulation for Emby to recognise them?

Thanks for the reply.. The spoiler bit isn't enabled. There is a load of stuff I haven't watched which still shows the plot and thumbnails as well so don't think its that.

Server Version 4.9.5.0

I have also tried changing the naming convention of the series overall to include the TMDB ID etc so it looks like this at top level "Silo (2023) [tmdbid= 125988]"

Still nothing...

Devs / we need to see logs, from where you refresh metadata or imported the new episodes.

I use tvdb id, and don't see the issue

Silo (2023) [TvdbId=403245]

Can you show me how you have set this up? I have tried it that way and for some reason its made it worse haha..

Amending the headline series to this Silo (2023) [TvdbId=403245] and rescanned has now made all the episodes unrecognisable to Emby?

I have attached a load of screenshots. It wasn't happening until recently and haven't really changed anything. The only thing I can think of is my file compression using handbrake as a difference..

Do you TVDB the actual episodes as well? I haven't in the passed and it pulls in the metadata.

Also just to add this isn't isolated to that Silo TV show that's just an example. Its every TV show after a certain point.

I haven't amended anything or changed my formatting at all. The only issue is the Handbrake. I am changing the file to a h.265

Even that doesn't hugely tie in though as I have some files that have worked after compression.

We would need server logs to see the issue.

It might be something blocking your access to outside resources, like tvdb and tmdb.

Like I said before.
