Plugin: Emby Expiry Manager

Emby Expiry Manager : Schedule library items for automatic deletion. Pick any movie, series, season, or individual episode, set a date/time, and a background scheduler removes it automatically at your chosen interval.

Two removal modes are supported: delete from disk, which removes the item and its files permanently, and library only, which removes it from Emby while keeping the files. For library-only removals, the item is moved into a _deleted folder placed automatically inside the same library creating .embyignore file inside so Emby's scanner never recreates an empty shell for it. 

Shows badge and gives warning before the item leaves emby library (requires plugin emby new overlay v1.3.2.0 which is available in the forum page plugin/new badge overlay plugin)

If you are planning to delete an item from library while keeping the file don't forget to toggle on the emby ignore settings under the library settings. Be cautious when checking "Also delete from my disk", you may lose your media permanently.... as to my experience i Used windows and it puts them in recycle bin, however I can not guarantee same will happen to you. Also I haven't test it in other OS... so it is completely upto you how you use this plugin. Test the plugin and let me know if there are issues on it

• Added disk space summary: The Delete Queue tab now shows a live summary banner above the queue table:

This works very well, thank you.

May I suggest a way to select all content marked for purging, and adding them to a collection or similar? It would be useful to have a section for the users where they can see everything that will be deleted soon.

I've made such a collection myself, but I selected everything manually from the usual library views. For episodes, that took quite a while.

I think you mean automatically adding all the items in the deletion queue to a single collection. If that's what you mean, I like the idea and I'll try to include it in the next update.

I'm using the plugin and I love it. But it turns out it's only recognized part of my library. I have anime and TV shows in separate categories, and it's identified the anime as TV shows but isn't recognizing the TV shows. Is there any way to force it to recognize them

Thanks! for the feedback. I believe this is actually not a plugin bug. The plugin pulls items by type (Movie/Series/Episode) directly from Emby, it doesn't care which library folder they're in. So if your TV Shows library isn't showing up, it's almost certainly that library's content type isn't set to "Shows" in Emby. Can you tell me the content type of the TV show?

I would like a feature that removed it from radarr/sonarr too. 

 

Looking forward to use this plugin. Right now I am using maintainerr. 

 

My use case is delete files from radarr/sonarr when they are older than 90days for the files that are in /hdd1/content only. Not from hdd2. 

 

Hdd1 - it is used to current content. 

Hdd2 - long term storage.

I have a Library Structure as 

HDD1 - Contents - Movies/Shows
HDD2 - Contents - Movies/Shows

HDD1 is used for content that is released this year.
HDD2 is used for the content that i intened to keep long term.

The idea is only one HDD remains more active intead of both as most users will access current content.

And I am using maintainerr to look for content added for more than 90days (irrespective of it is seen or not) and remove it from radarr/sonarr this will remove it from emby too.

if using your plugin files are removed directly from disk, this will only remove them from emby. but will still be present in sonarr/radarr.
if those files are monitored they will be download again. if those are unmonitored then this will create unnecessary clutter in radarr/sonarr.

I think you have to use api call of radarr/sonarr via emby to remove those movies/shows or tag them as"removed by emby"

Okay now I understand what you mean. But i made my plugin mainly to handle scheduled expiration directly within the Emby library/environment, so I’m keeping it independent from Radarr/Sonarr rather than adding those integrations.

For a setup like yours, where the Arr apps also need to be updated when something is removed, Maintainerr would probably be the better fit.

I might look into adding optional Maintainerr integration in the future, but for now, I’m keeping the plugin focused on Emby itself.

That's fair, I realy like the Leaving Soon Stickers on Posters, i wish maintainerr had that.

Keep on developing, ill check this project again in the future when it's applicable to my use case
