DarkStar1977 122 Posted yesterday at 02:27 PM Posted yesterday at 02:27 PM (edited) Hi guys, After months suffering the 4.9 version consuming all my PR4100 resources and crashing the server twice per day and even completely frozen the entire NAS every 2 days, I've decided to install and re-deploy Version 4.7.14.0 into another PR4100 I have and rebuild everything from the scratch. As you can see the difference on resource consumption is enormeous: 4.7 during a library scan (PR4100 NASFRIDGE) 4.9 while doing NOTHING (PR4100 NASFLIX) Both are using the same libraries, same folders, etc. So the only difference is the Emby Version and the PR4100 Hardware that is exactly the same on both. My issue comes when I want to deploy Emby plugins, even is possible to deploy any previous version none of them indicates the compatibility with server version. I would like to know if there's a list of emby server version - plugin version so I can deploy the correct versions. As well I would like to know if there's any option on 4.7 that I can use to avoid plugins being updated. Thanks in advance. Edited yesterday at 02:30 PM by DarkStar1977
Solution Luke 42687 Posted yesterday at 04:21 PM Solution Posted yesterday at 04:21 PM Quote As well I would like to know if there's any option on 4.7 that I can use to avoid plugins being updated. This is handled automatically with plugins that are installed from the emby plugin catalog. 1

Thanks a lot. I really hope that you're capable to improve performance on 4.9 or 4.10 otherwise I will not be able to move from here.
Luke 42687 Posted yesterday at 11:07 PM Posted yesterday at 11:07 PM I think the difference is more related to a fresh install then the version.

Did a fresh instal of latest 4.9 version into my 3rd PR4100 that is just a file server, no apps running on it. This is after installing emby and setting up 1 library with 155 movies after library scan has completed and all identified. 4.9 doing nothing (PR4100 NASDATA) I'm sorry to say it but NO, this is not because a fresh install, is because new version consumes too many resources constantly while doing nothing. Not to say that when ffmppeg process is running consumes the entire CPU and more memory than installed in both 4.9 latest installations: 4.9 (NASFLIX and NASDATA) 4,7 NASFRIDGE - Same Video Playing
