Babatom 21 Posted Sunday at 07:20 PM Posted Sunday at 07:20 PM Hey Emby Team, @Luke @ebr I recently checked out Emby on Android TV and was really impressed – the interface feels much more modern and cleaner compared to Apple TV. Especially the layout of the elements is much better, plus the poster preview is bigger and the buttons/navigation feel more intuitive. In comparison, the Apple TV design feels a bit dated. Please give the Apple TV app a design upgrade for the detail pages that meets today's standards I'd love to see the Apple TV app get an upgrade in the future that's closer to the Android TV version. Thanks and best regards! 2
SamES 1113 Posted Sunday at 11:10 PM Posted Sunday at 11:10 PM Maybe. This is what the web app looks like and it is generally the reference standard
AJV20 67 Posted Monday at 07:57 PM Posted Monday at 07:57 PM I think Emby, should use the strengths of each OS. Hopefully they use Liquid Glass or at least make it more modern
SuperCitizenEmb 36 Posted Monday at 08:46 PM Posted Monday at 08:46 PM If you're using Apple TV, you should check out Infuse app to access Emby. Last time i checked it’s the nicest, sleekest Emby client that exists by a long mile for Apple TV or iphone. Not only that, but you can combine multiple emby servers into a single view (so everything appears as 1 library).
Babatom 21 Posted Monday at 08:54 PM Author Posted Monday at 08:54 PM I really like the native client; it’s very user-friendly and, with the new Spotlight feature, the home screen looks great too – it’s just the detail pages that could do with a revamp. It does indeed look very modern in Infuse.
AJV20 67 Posted Monday at 08:57 PM Posted Monday at 08:57 PM Spotlight needs work too, most of the images get cut off
Babatom 21 Posted Monday at 09:00 PM Author Posted Monday at 09:00 PM Yeah, beta... but it'll be fine
Packer 5 Posted Tuesday at 12:59 PM Posted Tuesday at 12:59 PM Wots this spotlight thing on Apple TV Emby I don’t see it

Packer 5 Posted Tuesday at 01:02 PM Posted Tuesday at 01:02 PM Wot for Apple TV the app for Emby sever beta
polaris70 24 Posted Tuesday at 03:27 PM Posted Tuesday at 03:27 PM Thanks, Babatom, for bringing up this topic. I'm not sure whether Emby has collected data on how many users are in the Apple ecosystem compared to Android. However, I think it's very common for people who have an Apple TV 4K in their living room to also own an iPhone or other Apple devices. My personal impression is that Emby tends to focus more on developing features and improving the UI for Android devices than for Apple devices. Some people here may say, "You can just use Infuse instead of the Emby app." I do have the Infuse app, but I honestly want to use the Emby app for everything because I don't like switching between apps. I appreciate the work Luke and SamE have done on Spotlight integration and other improvements. However, as Babatom mentioned, as an Apple user I would really like to see more focus on Apple devices, especially the Emby app for Apple TV 4K. Infuse is a great option, but it should be an alternative—not a replacement for the Emby app. Thank you. 3

Babatom 21 Posted yesterday at 04:21 AM Author Posted yesterday at 04:21 AM Because it looks much nicer? And maybe because there are more Android users? Isn't that the case?
Deihmos 174 Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago (edited) I am with you. I wish the Apple TV app looked and worked like the Android app. Unfortunately, I don't think that will ever be the case, so I dusted off my old Nvidia Shield instead. I didn't even realize you could add rotten tomatoes ratings. How was this done? Edited 15 hours ago by Deihmos

Babatom 21 Posted 11 hours ago Author Posted 11 hours ago Poster/cover art integrated on the left in the hero section (like Android TV), not just a background image without a cover • Rounded/compact button icons instead of square, equally-sized tiles • Scroll-reveal behavior: initial screen shows only the hero section (poster, title, buttons, short synopsis) — on swipe/scroll down, the hero section slides up to reveal seasons, episodes, cast, etc. (similar to Netflix/Disney+) • No details (cast, seasons) visible on the first screen — only revealed after the scroll interaction
AJV20 67 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Honestly an Android UI wouldn't fit that well on apple software. I would see how other apps use their apps on apple software for ideas. One of the things I always bring up is the feel of immersion. Instead of it feeling like choosing a movie from a menu it should take advantage of the poster and artwork to give us a feel of each experience. For example a horror movie and a pixar movie should feel different. That's why is so important to show more of the artwork as possible to get that feeling. right now when we go to a movie or show its just boxes and letters taking up most of the space. Sometimes less is more. Hope I made sense.

Babatom 21 Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago For me personally, this should be the reference: Top = Emby (current) Middle = Neptune Bottom = Infuse
