shredfiend 2 Posted yesterday at 12:25 AM Posted yesterday at 12:25 AM Running Emby Windows 2.310.2.0 Enabling "Use a layout on the home screen that shows a detailed preview of the selected item" in the Home Screen preferences still shows a backdrop at the top of the home screen from a random item in the selected library. In this version, only the backdrop is shown, the title and description of the movie/tv series/artist selected is missing. Is this intended?
Luke 42646 Posted yesterday at 04:56 AM Posted yesterday at 04:56 AM Hi, yes the text is just meant to show what you have selected.
shredfiend 2 Posted 7 hours ago Author Posted 7 hours ago Sorry, I don't think my question was clear. I've attached an image to help. As you can see, my "Movies" library is selected and Emby has chosen "The Life of Chuck" randomly from that library. In previous versions, the title and overview from the movie's metadata would also be displayed in the black area on the left.

Yes, and what you're describing was removed as some people did not like it So what we were left with is just a random backdrop from the library that is in focus. This is currently the expected behavior.
shredfiend 2 Posted 5 hours ago Author Posted 5 hours ago Thanks for clarifying. For the record, some other people found the inclusion of the text useful.

arrbee99 1842 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Also been complaining about that for months, off and on (mostly off).. .Been ignored for months.
Luke 42646 Posted 56 minutes ago Posted 56 minutes ago It has not been ignored. The option mentioned in that topic is still something we can do.
