Song and artist names of Google Streamer

I thought that in the past when the screensaver started on my Google TV Chromecast it displayed the song name (and artist?) at the bottom of the screen. Did I dream this? I'm asking because I don't see it any more on my Google Streamer.

I use Emby for Android on my Google TV Streamer.

What app version number? How did you start playback?

App version is 3.5.36 (May 15th, 2026)

I select a genre then shuffle. After 15 minutes, the Google screensaver starts.

There's nothing to show beside the screensaver showing my photo.

So you're referring to a system screensaver and not an Emby one?

That's correct. In the past when the Google screensaver kicked in, it would show the song name at the bottom left corner while Emby was playing.

Are you sure you weren't using the Android TV app before?  It has its own music "screensaver" of sorts.

I'm sure it was not emby. But now you got me thinking: a few years ago I was using a 3rd-party screen saver on the Chromecast. Maybe it was the one showing the track title, not Google's. Unfortunately it was discontinued so I have no way of verifying it.
