MrBuggie 2 Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago (edited) Hi, I’ve asked about this before, and was wondering if there’s going to be a fix for this? Currently watching an anime that has extra content at the end of every episode, and it’s really difficult to read the subtitles because of the popup for the next episode that appears over them. And if I press Cancel to make it go away, I have to manually launch every episode. It’s very frustrating. Couldn’t it be moved to the top, or push the subtitles up? I realise a back press can make it vanish, but that’s so counter-intuitive and is just an annoying workaround for a bad UI choice. Android TV app on a TCL C7K. Edited 11 hours ago by MrBuggie
GrimReaper 5006 Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago (edited) You can disable "Show Up Next Preview* in App settings>Playback tab until you finish that anime. Or use Universal Android app so you won't have that overlay at all. Edited 10 hours ago by GrimReaper
MrBuggie 2 Posted 11 hours ago Author Posted 11 hours ago Thank you. That’s better, though still not ideal as other people watch other shows on the same TV so I’ll have to toggle the option before and after every time I sit down to watch it.

MrBuggie 2 Posted 10 hours ago Author Posted 10 hours ago What’s a universal app? Google isn’t bringing up anything useful, and nothing by that name.
GrimReaper 5006 Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Search for just "Emb", it should bring two client apps: Emby for AndroidTV (the one you're currently using) and Emby for Android (standard/universal app).
MrBuggie 2 Posted 9 hours ago Author Posted 9 hours ago Ohhh, there are two Emby apps available on the TV? I’ve been using Emby for years and had no idea. So I’ve been looking on the forum, and if I understand correctly, you plan on eventually phasing the TV app out, in which case you really ought to put some info in the app itself steering people to the universal app. It has solved another problem I was going to investigate later, where a H264 1080p file has to be transcoded (there was something in the stats for nerds about unsupported video level). As my server is a Raspberry Pi 4, transcoding isn’t an option. But the universal app plays it no problem. So I’ll try using the universal app for now and see if it fixes all my problems (including an audio/sub track issue I posted about earlier). Also, reading about the universal app lead me to discover the enhanced homescreen/spotlight option which I’d never noticed, and that makes Emby so much better! It should really be more prominent on both apps. So thanks for pointing me to the universal Emby app. 1

MrBuggie 2 Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago I changed TV recently, and didn’t see anything when I installed it. I might have noticed there were two apps on the Play Store, but was too busy setting up the TV and would have just installed the one that says for TV without giving it a second thought.
