Auto custom collection / playlist creation

I have more than a few custom collections in my movie series library making the use of auto collection useless for me. What I would like to see is the ability to go into my movie series library, sort by folder (movie series), select all, then be able to click either create playlists or create collections having each folder with it's name added to either a playlist or collections library rather than having to add each fold one by one.

Hi, did you try using the multi-select tool to quickly create a new collection or playlist based on that?

Please reread what I wrote cause I just did and it's clear as day. Lets try it this way.

1. Open Movie Series library

2. Select folder view

3. Use multi-select to select all Movie Series folders

4. Have an option for automatically naming all with the series / collection name I gave each Movie Series folder, then automatically adding the movies in each new collection / playlist to their collection / playlist

Yes instead of having to do folder by folder. Maybe even have it have a hook to scan for new items added to those folders and autoadd them to playlist / collection they are in.

Sounds like something a tool could be developed for but not really broadly applicable such that it should be a part of the main interface.

While a pligin could fill the bill having the feature as part of Emby does make sense since most do have custom Collections / Playlist.

I'm not sure how you would know that nor if I agree as most people use systems straight out of the box.  But, in any case, I would be fairly confident that most people do not have a situation exactly like yours where they would want to create collections directly from existing folders.  But, I guess we'll see by the support of this FR.

Most peeps are going to want to use as few steps as possible to do something. This would reduce the steps and time it takes. Now that said I'm sure nothing will come of this since other half finished features have been setting for years to be finished.
