AlyEssa 0 Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Environment: iOS v26.4.. Emby App version 2.2.53 Emby Server version 4.9.5 on Win 11 This error is consistently reproducible in the app and occurs with any MKV file that uses direct play. Repro steps: 1) Reinstall the Emby app from scratch on iPhone 15. 2) connect to the Emby server using a local account (not the connect option) 3) Sign in with an admin user on the Emby server 4) Pick a media file that is encoded with an MKV extension. This is where the spinner spins infinitely. On the Server dashboard, it doesn't even show that I am logged in when I try to access a media file. Variations I have tried: - Reduce playback bandwidth from Auto to 300 mpbs and also 4 mbps - force transcoding for all file types (within the iOS app) So here is the kicker: on the same device, I can use Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Brave and connect to the server using the web address to play the same file instantly. In the iOS logs, the error shown is (depending on the options I am choosing for encoding) [libmpv_render] error: after creating texture: OpenGL error INVALID_FRAMEBUFFER or Failed to open http://192.168.4.199:80/... MPV Error: Playback ended with Error: loading failed emby_ios_1781098558027.946.txt
Luke 42601 Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Hi there, please attach the Emby server log from when the problem occurred: How to Report a Problem Thanks!
AlyEssa 0 Posted June 11 Author Posted June 11 I am not sure if this helps. I was able to rule out network a bit more. I had an older version of the app on my iPad. 2.2.43 and the same file played nearly instantly. emby-snip.txt
Luke 42601 Posted June 12 Posted June 12 HI, can you check iOS settings -> Apps and ensure the Emby app has local network permissions?
AlyEssa 0 Posted June 12 Author Posted June 12 It does. I also toggled it and restarted a few tests ago.
AlyEssa 0 Posted 58 minutes ago Author Posted 58 minutes ago Hey Luke - any update on this request? Anything else I can try?
