Kyouma 23 Posted June 30 Posted June 30 Is there a way to remove the chapters generated from this plugin?
Kyouma 23 Posted July 2 Posted July 2 @Pasithea A few more questions/suggestions. Is it possible to also add a Pop up for skip credits/next episode? It would be great, if we could have a place in the UI to see, remove chapters retrieved from this plugin. Maybe also a way to submit new markers within the Plugin UI? Thank you for making this.
Pasithea 21 Posted July 2 Posted July 2 @KyoumaI believe you'd need to remove all chapters from the media currently, then rescan the chapters to reset them. I'll look into adding your other suggestions though.

Pasithea 21 Posted July 2 Posted July 2 Yeah that makes sense. I'll probably have a new version out by the end of the week with that. Hopefully sooner! 1

wabisabi926 15 Posted July 21 Posted July 21 Request localization support. I can provide Simplified Chinese translations if needed.

alex77777 50 Posted Wednesday at 03:50 PM Posted Wednesday at 03:50 PM @PasitheaIve submitted timestamps about a week ago on the IntroDB website, how long do they typically sit pending for?

Hey, thanks for submitting! As it’s a volunteer project and we have thousands of submissions to get through, it can take a while to get to your submission. Possibly a couple of months before human eyes see it. The primary way submissions are verified is automatic when another user submits a similar time. As more users submit, the db grows exponentially. You can however use your submission right away by requesting with your API key, as that returns pending submissions with increased weight.

Ok thanks, so far Ive contributed 22 timestamps. I would love to see Emby add skip recap prompts to fully utilize the information that the IntroDB provides. Thanks for the insight on how this works.
TecEmbryo 16 Posted Saturday at 01:55 PM Posted Saturday at 01:55 PM Hi, first thanks for this nice project! But do I have to do this manually under "chapter"? The website shows a "Skip Recap" button in the demo, but I can't find it in Emby. So the files run normally, even though something was found, and there's no graphical way to skip it. What am I misunderstanding?

What am I misunderstanding? Unfortunately Emby does not provide a graphical skip button in the way TIDB needs them or way to edit the UI to add one without extra modifications. While Emby does have a skip intro button on some interfaces, it only supports some segment types, specific timings, etc. that aren’t able to be interfaced with TIDB’s data. I know this is a pretty requested feature though, so I’ll look into some improvements. 1

alex77777 50 Posted Saturday at 11:16 PM Posted Saturday at 11:16 PM @PasitheaI just wanted to let you know of a small flaw with the introdb submissions. When there is multiple versions of a movie I cant submit times for all versions. I get a message saying For example Terminator 2 has many versions. Specifically it has the Special Edition and the Ultimate Cut. With the difference in total length of the movie being around 3 mins between them. So the credits play in different spots. I cant add the timestamps for the Ultimate Cut because it seems to be too close in time to another submission I made. Hopefully I explained this well Thanks

Different film versions are differentiated based on the duration, which allows you to submit multiple times.

It also seems that the plugin only finds the files where the chapters are integrated. With files where Emby itself inserts the chapters – for example, every 5 minutes – it doesn't find any intros, etc.

The difference between versions is 3 minutes, so I assume it thinks I'm adding the timestamp for the same version of the movie since they are so close in length.

With files where Emby itself inserts the chapters – for example, every 5 minutes – it doesn't find any intros, etc. Good question, the plugin doesn't use chapters to decide what to fetch. Every movie/episode is looked up by its TMDb/TVDb/IMDb ID, so both kinds of files are checked against the DB. What you're seeing is Emby itself: for files with no embedded chapters, Emby generates placeholder chapters (~every 5 minutes) during scans, and that write replaces the whole chapter list — including the markers the plugin added. Files that do have embedded chapters never get regenerated, so the markers stay. Re-running the TheIntroDB Media Segment Scan after a library scan normally restores them, but if Emby regenerates those chapters afterwards they can get wiped again. There's no Emby API for a plugin to say "my chapters must win," so it's a platform limitation I'm still working around. If you want to confirm, the plugin log will show either "TheIntroDB saved N chapters/markers" or "API returned no data" for a given file.is In the trouble shooting section on the plugin's GitHub page it does state: It's recommended to disable Emby's internal intro marker detection in Dashboard → Library → select library → Advanced/options → Disable "Generate intro video markers".

Ah you're right, runtimes within 5 minutes were treated as the same version, so the second credits submission was seen as overlapping the first. I've tightened the version grouping to 2 minutes (from 5), which still absorbs encode-level length differences but lets close-length re-cuts like T2's be submitted separately. Feel free to try submitting now!

Thanks for reply! Too many good things can also lead to a bad result. That will almost certainly be the case for me. I'm using: Emby Server 4.10.0.22 Emby Intro Maker Chapter API TV Theme Videos - don't work in beta TV Theme Songs - don't work in beta -> that's why I still have "Theme Maker" enabled. Although I've disabled all plugins from overwriting existing information in the settings, I should probably just stick to one plugin. Since I prefer a graphical interface to skip steps, "Emby Intro Maker" is the only option for now. And as soon as I switch back to a regular server version, i.e., 4.10 Final, TV Theme Videos and TV Theme Songs should work again.
