iOS app crashes straight after splash screen

As the title states, all I get is the splash screen and then nothing.

I will admit that the device that I am using is very old but it is still supported.

This was working until I updated the app moments ago. I am not sure which version of the app I was on previously.

iOS version: 12.5.8
model: iPad Mini 2 (ME276B/A)
app version: 2.2.53

Please help me, this is the tablet my 4yr old uses in the car and we are about to go on an 18 hour drive!

The issue is fixed for me with the latest update, thanks a bunch.

tested on iPad 11 Air and iPhone 13 Pro (both with ios 26.5)
Codecs tested: HEVC/hvc1, 4K/hvc1, H264/avc1, Subs (SRT) on and off.
