Blocking the creation of new categories (genres) of films

Hi. 

Is it possible to block the automatic creation of new categories (genres) of films? I have a category "action" in my language (Polish), but every now and then an "action" folder in English is automatically created. In addition, it is now empty and did not disappear after changing the metadata of the video previously there.

I suggest looking into the plugin Genre Cleaner. You can then for example tell the plugin to always map Action to Akcja. Its what I've been using for the occasional duplicate genre like Sci-fi and Science Fiction

Can you tell me how to configure this plugin?

It's very straightforward, you first choose the library you want the change to apply to, and then you see a list of all current genres. You can then pick the genre you want to "remove" and choose which other genre you want it to be merged into. When you're done, refresh the metadata for that library and you should see that there are now only the approved genres left
