alex77777 25 Posted Tuesday at 03:29 PM Posted Tuesday at 03:29 PM I have a feature request that I would like to see for the Apple TV. It would be nice to have the option to have subtitles enabled when a rewind occurs. On the Apple TV App they have this feature, so you can use that to see what I am referring to. For example, say I am watching a show and I don't have subtitles enabled and I rewind 40 seconds, subtitles will then be enabled for 40 seconds automatically. Ideally It would just select the first subtitle track available or give us the option to specify which track it should try to pick. Thanks
Luke 42312 Posted Tuesday at 05:27 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:27 PM HI, yes I really like this idea. The problem that makes it complicated for us is that sometimes turning on subtitles requires an entire stream change, meaning that it requires transcoding on the server. I don't think it would be ideal to have to suddenly reset the whole stream. On the other hand, we could have options to do this sort of thing when a stream change isn't required, but then users will be left wondering why they sometimes get the subtitles and sometimes don't. So either way we do it it's like we're asking for pain. 1
