tOLJY 51 Posted yesterday at 07:11 AM Posted yesterday at 07:11 AM Any statement I've raised quite a few issues here over the last year about playing YouTube videos through the TV and other things, as well as music videos and other things I haven't raised yet at all It's not ideal but 95% of my concerns could be worked around if you would put links on the Google TV UI. These are links that already show up in the Android app at the very bottom of an item. They just don't appear on Google TV at all. Through the use of plugins that allow you to define custom links, I would have a workaround for a lot of my concerns. I'm quite happy for this to be disabled by default and then opted in by the users that would actually use it if links on the user interface were annoying to some. Please consider this for the next release. I can't imagine this logic being anything other than an if statement on what client hardware is - phone versus TV. Thanksin advance and keep up the awesome work!

It would be incredibly dangerous from a security standpoint and I don't think we could ever get through store policies without a ton of risk there as well. 2
tOLJY 51 Posted yesterday at 02:41 PM Author Posted yesterday at 02:41 PM There is already a plugin that allows custom links. The only change to emby would be to show links on the UI...

tOLJY 51 Posted 23 hours ago Author Posted 23 hours ago Isn't that what ProviderIdsExtender does? Or am I misunderstanding? Looks like it might only support known links with IDs configured in metadata.

tOLJY 51 Posted 22 hours ago Author Posted 22 hours ago So what if I wanted to open a link from Google tv though? Emby already shows imdb links etc, why can't you make an option to allow users to open IMDb from their tv if they want to? How is it any different than another other app opening external links, which they do?

tOLJY 51 Posted 52 minutes ago Author Posted 52 minutes ago That is why I suggested you put it behind a configuration switch and turn it off by default
