Recording playback switches ratio when fast forwarding

I reported this loads but here we go again, when a recording is played back and you skip forward for adverts etc the recording changes from wide screen to Square screen.  Sometimes if you skip forward or back some more it corrects itself but usually you need to stop then resume the recording for it to fix and if you try skipping again it fors the same again.

Not sure if this is the app, tv or both but honestly tired of keep reporting it and no one looking into it.

Luke i have reported this time and time again, I have previously sent logs and photos, not sure what else I can send.

Please look at the history, 3 months ago you said "we will look at this" and still not fixed

Jm,

What is the actual pixel aspect ratio of the original media?  Sometimes with .mkv content, you might have a squeezed or stretched copy that has added metadata tag to resize the media for playback.  When the player accepts this resize tag, the end playback looks fine, but any fast forward would miss getting this resize control and look incorrect, just like you described.

VLC [Ctrl J] , ffprobe can both find the file info to show if this is happening.  Aspect Ratio errors and forced resize settings i quite common with content from DVD's or from about 10% of online media.

Like I said before, this happens no matter what client I use. It's a server issue that's been happening since the new beta came out and it's never been fixed. As a media server, playing content should always be the top priority, whether it's streaming or recording. That should be the core of a media server. Other features are nice, but if the basics are broken and not fixed, then the whole project is a bust. So please, actually look into this and don't just say you will!

Just so you know, I also got rid of all the plugins and now I'm just using the basic stuff that came with the beta, which fixed everything except for that recording aspect ratio issue.
