Where do I enter my TheAudioDB Patreon API key?

I created a new Library for my collection of Music, so I can access it all from Emby. I just purchased a monthly subscription for "TheAudioDB" so I can use it on the Emby Server to help with populating music images, metadata, etc.

The problem I'm having is that I have no idea on how to add this API Key to Emby for TheAudioDB plug-in. When I click on this plug-in, it says: "The plug-in has no settings to configure."

The version of the TheAudioDB plug-in is 1.0.20.0

The version for my Emby Server is 4.9.3.0

Let me know if you need any additional information. Any help would be appreciated

Let me provide some additional information that might be helpful in solving this problem.

My music is stored like this:
\Music
     \Artist
          \Singles
               \Song_Title

Plugins (for Music):
- TheAudioDb
- FanArt.TV
- MusicBrainz (I just reinstalled it because I saw a post where "TheAudioDb" and "FanArt.TV" are dependent on it.

Albums - 45% populated out of 581 items
Album Artists - 5% populated with images out of 485 items
Artists - 0% populated out of 623 items
Genres - 0% populated (not sure if they're supposed to be populated or not

All I can think of for now. Let me know if you have any questions.

UPDATE: once I installed the MusicBrainz plugin, the artwork and metadata started populating. So, I’m assuming that  "TheAudioDb" and "FanArt.TV" are dependent on it.

Question:

1. Do I still need to keep the paid monthly subscription for “TheAudioDb” or not?

2. Should I enable FanArt.TV within Emby for Music library and should it be primary or secondary?

Hi, I haven’t heard of users paying for audio db. I think most should be about to use it for free.

But yes, audio db and fanart both depend on music brains ids.

The providers you enable and prioritize are your preference based on your media and what they have on their website .

I'm assuming you purchased "Premium" (https://www.theaudiodb.com/pricing)?

TheAudioDb is free for general use, unless you want developer priviledges which aren't required for using Emby. The Emby AudioDB Plugin relies on the open (free) API.

All you need to do is "enable" the Audio Providers in your Emby Music library and identification should happen automatically.

So I have some follow up questions:

1) Who told you to "buy" TheAudioDB?
2) What's the issue you're having? Is music not being identified? Are your songs not showing up in Emby?

@brothomThanks for your response. I had my music library installed but no images and artwork were appearing. This is when I “assumed “ I needed the AudioDb API Key. What I later realized is that for some reason I didn’t have MusicBrainz plugin installed. Once I installed MusicBranz, it started populating.

Second question, I have a lot of Christian and Christmas songs, but I don’t want them mixed into my main music. Should I create separate music libraries for them or is there a better way to accomplish this. Thank you for your help.

@Lukethank you for your help! I have a separate question about how I should categorize/separate some of my music. For example, have a lot of Christian and Christmas songs, but I don’t want them mixed into my main music. Should I create separate music libraries for them or is there a better way to accomplish this.

Hi, I would say separate libraries.
